Summary: This cottage for our anniversary getaway was perfect. Apparently the "Over the Moon" cottages were renovated about three years ago, and the one we stayed in was small --plenty large for a couple or small family-- but lovely. The knotty-pine paneling, the well-appointed living area and kitchen, and the deck and grounds facing the water were all delightful. Zan and Amy were great proprietors and attentive to any issues we faced. (They're in the process of correcting the listing from '1 bedroom with 2 queen beds' to '1 bedroom with 1 double bed'. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room and a twin bed in the loft upstairs.) We were interested in kayaking during our getaway, and this cottage is situated immediately across Moon River Road from Gaunt Bay on the Moon River. It was easy to build our folding Tucktec kayaks on the grassy area near the road and then to carry them across to water's edge to launch them; the bay was ideal for kayaking! The water was great for swimming. The cottage is only a 5-minue drive from Bala, and we were able to eat and shop there. It's also close to Johnston's Cranberry Marsh/Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery, which we were eager to visit; they sell some great foods and drinks in the shop there. We highly recommend this cottage for your visit to this part of Muskoka!

Summary: We arrived approximately 10 min before the scheduled check in time of 4:00 pm. I received an email a day or two before our arroval time from someone named Gabriel through Vrbo app stating if I had any question regarding my stay that he typically answers in 20 to 30 min unless he has gone home for the day. I sent an inquiry regarding the grill that was listed amonst the ammentites whoch went unanswered, which cost me additional $ as I needed to purchase propane for the grill (otherwise i would have brought my own propane tank). I arrived to meet the actual owner of the property who had no idea who Gabriel was or what service he was associated with. Aside from that, the property owner was all good and everything was great other than less than desirable weather.
