Positive: The property was very clean and welcoming. On arrival we were met by Trish who showed us around and told us where everything was. The house is a little bit tricky to find, you have to turn as if you are going into the factory and then follow the land at the side. Despite it being next to the motorway it was very peaceful.
Negative: Sadly the private bathroom facilities were up a steep flight of stairs. This was not mentioned when booking. The description just said it was separate to the bedroom. If we had known it was up a flight of steep stairs we would never have booked. Due to mobility issues and the fact we didn’t want to be walking around the house in our pjs it was not ideal at all. We were told that the house was often “full of workmen”. This didn’t comfort us, especially when our door handle was attempted to be opened in the night. We paid extra for use of the washing facilities, kitchen etc. but we couldn’t use the washing machine as it was full of other people’s washing and didn’t feel we could remove their washing from the machine when the cycle had finished to put ours in. The tumble dryer was located outside but there was that much washing around and a full tumbler drier that you were unable to use it. The kitchen was clean and you could use pots and pans if you wished to cook. The only gripe was that the toaster had lost its covers so it was difficult to put the toast down on little metal handles, these also became hot to touch. We didn’t feel that anything could be done in terms of the bathroom facilities to enable us to stay. I was disappointed to have spent a further £15 for use of the washing machine and other kitchen facilities and not been able to them. We had booked to stay for three nights but left after one night. Something just didn’t feel right especially when friends were coming over to the house in the morning (fine with that) but we felt uncomfortable, we were ignored, and it felt like we shouldn’t had been there, so swiftly finished our breakfast and left, with no comment made by the host.
