TIME TO PLAN YOUR WINTER VACATION
Gorgeous wooded lot, 3b/2b private home with cathedral ceiling.
Heated floors and wood stove make fall and winter evenings especially cozy.
In the winter, enjoy heated flooring in our home and cozy up to the warmth of the wood stove. Spend the day on the snowmobile trails or enjoy family time skiing at Oak Mountain. Bring your snowshoes for hiking.
*You must have a vehicle able to navigate icy, snowy roads and also our uphill driveway*
There is plenty of space in the attached garage for snowmobiles (up to 6).
We also have a flat area at the top of the driveway for a trailer.
In the summer, take advantage of nearby lake access for kayaking or paddleboarding.
Or, take the boat a few miles to the launch area. Explore miles of wooded trails. Enjoy Speculator's ice cream shop EVERY night, concluding with an evening around the fire pit on the patio.
There is NO air conditioning in our home. Every bedroom has a ceiling fan and a few additional box fans. Camp-of-the-Woods is 10 minutes away.
*A vacation rental agreement must be signed after booking. This agreement specifies our house rules/expectations. If the agreement is not signed, then no entry code into the property will be released. A refundable damage deposit of $250 is also required.

Summary: We loved how relaxing the woods and walk to the lake were. We saw deer, wild turkeys and chipmunks. The house was clean and beautifully appointed. Polly was quick to respond to any questions or requests.

Summary: We were very impressed with this newer property. It was very clean and all made up ready for our stay. Everything seemed to be upgraded perfectly for a VRBO. We had everything we needed for a delightful visit with other family members staying on Lake Pleasant.

Summary: We were so blessed to find and rent this property. The home was the perfect size and perfect location for our family! We rented as a surprise for our young grandson and to be close to family at Christmas. The hosts were welcoming and accommodating. It really felt like home right away! I can't say enough about how thrilled we were to stay here! It was so clean & cozy for the winter weather season with warm floors & super comfy beds, ( the best beds we have had in a rental)! The bathrooms were beautiful and also very clean! We also loved that each bedroom had a box fan in the closet! We forgot ours and use them for "white noise" so our grandbabies could nap well. We are really hoping to come again!! We had a great time!! Thank you for the great family memories and wonderful hospitality! May you all have a blessed and prosperous new year!

Summary: This place is a quiet, semi-secluded location that is perfect for a night away or a week away. Located less than 10 minutes south of Speculator, it was just the right location for us. From the open, main living area (living room, kitchen, dining) to the bedrooms, everything felt like a home that was welcoming and comfortable. Just a short walk away, we made use of the lake access to enjoy a swim each morning we were there. Visiting in the summer, we didn't have a need for the wood-burning stove or see any of the fall foliage that was to arrive just a few weeks after our stay, but can imagine how beautiful it would be. Polly (one of the owners) was communicative and easy to work with, which made our trip that much more relaxing.

Summary: This was our first time to Speculator, and it was a perfectly enjoyable stay despite low snow conditions (hence limited skiing option) and COVID (didn't explore dining or other social activities). The property itself is very comfortable for a family of 4-5 with 3 bedrooms and a large common area. The house had everything we needed to focus on relaxing and we never wished we stayed somewhere else. A nice bonus for our winter stay was being able to park in the garage. Heated floors took a while to warm up the house, but once they got going we didn't even need to wear slippers. Finally, communication with the owners was very quick, always on time and very informative. We will be back again!
