Welcome to The Lodge at Phoenix Mountain!
The Lodge at Phoenix Mountain offers the privacy, amenities, views, and quality of furnishings and decor expected of a multi-million dollar luxury vacation rental in the North Carolina High Country. The property sits atop Phoenix Mountain in Ashe County just outside Jefferson, about 20 miles from Boone, NC. It has a nicely landscaped yard with plenty of level places for children to play. Surrounding the lodge is a 480-acre nature preserve populated with mature woods yet offering unobstructed, long-range views of the surrounding mountains, the lights of the town below, and sunsets on the horizon.
Amenities include a hot tub, amazing views, privacy, a library, a game room, a fitness room, a jetted tub, three gas log fireplaces and an outdoor fire pit, four (4) king-bed suites furnished with genuine Tempurpedic Mattresses, a large bunk room, eight (8) HDTVs with DVD and BluRay players, a PS3 and Wii, Dish Network satellite TV, and Smart TV capabilities. The fully equipped kitchen includes such niceties as a full-size crockpot, Keurig and Mr. Coffee makers, and a KitchenAid stand mixer with all attachments. There is also a generator to protect against any power loss in the event of extreme weather.
***Access Disclosure: The road up to the lodge is 2.2 miles of scenic beauty. The first half is gravel and relatively flat. The second half is paved but curvy with steep inclines and switchbacks. During certain winter weather conditions, snow and ice can make travel difficult or impossible. In most cases, the road is passable within 24 hours. Customers are advised to use four-wheel-drive vehicles with good tire treads (chains recommended) and make sufficient preparations for arrival and departure. In the case of a winter weather event, it may be necessary to cancel or delay a reservation if it impacts our ability to clean/service the lodge to make it guest-ready. If a winter weather event forces a delay of arrival or departure, the owner will be fair and flexible regarding rental costs and schedule to accommodate and assure your satisfaction. Keeping an eye on the weather forecasts before arrival and departure is recommended.***

Summary: This was the perfect rental to compliment a Twickenham House wedding. The house is spacious and stunningly beautiful. Nicely equipped kitchen and bathrooms! Did not use the hot tub. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

Summary: This property has the potential to be an absolutely outstanding short term rental. The house itself is stunning. The bedrooms are all spacious with amazing bathrooms and plenty of space to hang out. The deck has gorgeous views and lots of space for everyone. I would suggest more outdoor furniture on the deck to accommodate more people since the house accommodates so many. And just be aware there is no bathroom on the top floor with the bunkbeds. It's really a fun space with the adjoining game room and not a big deal but for little ones that need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night they need to come down the spiral stairs. The biggest issues were from the property management company. I wish we would have known before booking how little they provide. It made me feel very 'nickel and dimed'. They only provide one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one paper towel roll and limited trash bags. Also there are only two bath towels per bathroom. They also charge $20 per bundle of wood for the fire pit. And when I asked about a crockpot or the type of coffee maker filter (cone vs. basket) they were unable to provide that information. If it were easy to just quickly go to the store it wouldn't be a big deal but it is a TRIP up the road to get to the house and there isn't a store super close so I wanted to bring everything on our way in and not have to go back out to the store for supplies. The owners have quite a gem if they can get the management company working better for them.

Summary: Amazing property with perfect accommodations for our get together with four couples. The views where amazing and the house amenities were wonderful. We did have an issue with cleanliness upon check in but the management company was very responsive and made every effort to rectify the situation. We would definitely come back to this house and would recommend it to others.

Summary: We had a great time with 14 adults. View is great day and night and it’s very private. Kitchen was well stocked except for only one cutting board. Hot tub is very nice. We were able to park 7 cars comfortably. Would definitely rent again for a similar weekends

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this luxurious and well-appointed home replete with amenities. The location was extremely private and you are surrounded by hundreds of pristine acres of natural forest. Long-range views from the back porch are fantastic! Only suggestion is that the home should stock up a little more on toilet paper , kitchen rolls and bathroom towels. We found these to be at low levels for a 3-night stay. But this is in no way is a detractor from other 5-star luxuries that the home offers. Will definitely recommend to family and friends!

Summary: Perfect location. Remote but easily accessible with a beautiful long winding driveway that offered great scenery. The house was perfect for 4 or 5 couples. Bedrooms were spacious and bathrooms were quite large as well. Outdoor and indoor living spaces made for great gatherings. We absolutely loved staying there and hope to go back.

Summary: The house was amazing and perfect for our large family of 12. The house had an abundance of space and comfort. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook for a houseful of family and everything was very well organized and labeled. The rooms are huge and the bathrooms are amazing. The only thing is to make sure you are prepared with snow chains or cables if it snowed within the week. The road up to the cabin is steep and we needed snow chains on our 2 wheel drive suburban. If you are prepared, the cabin is perfect!!!
