In the heart of Shenandoah Valley Close New Market Battlefield, to Bryce Ski Resort and Shenandoah Cavern. Great home for families and eventful gatherings. 1& 1/2 hours from DC and Northern Va. master bedroom California king bed. 1st bedroom Queen bed. 2nd bedroom twin beds. Reading room with trundle bed and desk. Kitchen spices & condiments. Stove top, convection oven. Microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher. 2 - 6quart crock pots. Coffee maker. Blender, mixer , iron and ironing board. Washer and dryer Large family room room seats 8. Eat in kitchen table for 4. Downstairs room with futon. Family room with sofa hide a bed queen , love seat hide a bed full size. Solid oak table seats 10 plus table with 22 chairs for large gatherings. Huge garage plus covered carport at back of house. Small covered back porch. End deck with swings.
Linens provided. Books, games and puzzles. Wildlife viewing. Great photography Scenic drives. Remote. 3 miles on gravel road. Paved driveway. Air conditioning heat pump. 3 wood burning fireplaces 2 bathroom upstairs and 1/2 downstairs a few minor inconveniences 1st cell coverage is limited. Verizon works well on side deck and yard. Television is antenna and very limited channels. Great if you just want to get away and relax.

Summary: We absolutely had a wonderful time at your rental home ! Mostly spent our time at Bryce resort but came back for the evenings and grilled steak down at the picnic area which was perfect ! Beautiful place on the upstairs patio to hang out and watch the sunrise ! Sleeping arrangements were perfect for 12 guys … our stay couldn’t have been better !!! Thanks so much !!

Summary: We had a nice and comfortable stay at Jake and Melinda’a place. The views are majestic and it’s truly secluded. The outdoor playset was a lot of fun for kids!

Summary: This is a big, beautiful home. Great for families all year round. Our family went for a ski trip. It was great to come back to the house in the evenings and relax in the family room. We made fires every night, which was something we don't get to do in our suburban home. Walks in the morning were wonderful in the fresh mountain air. We played games, watched movies, made s'mores over the fire and had a great time!

Summary: We need it some get away ... and this was just the perfect house for our huge family... the location is perfect to stay away from the city and some peace of mind ... the kids had fun we are from new yourk and we got so much space and qe enjoy every minute of it

Summary: We stayed here for a group mountain biking trip. The house is HUGE. The property is beautiful and peaceful. Everyone had a great time and we'd 100% stay again :)

Summary: We had a great time staying here! There was more than enough room for us to have privacy, cook together, and enjoy our meals in the dining room. Watching the sunset on the deck swings is a huge plus! This home is clearly filled with generations of love. Thank you for letting us stay on your beautiful property.

Summary: Our hostess was waiting for us to greet us. She was warm and welcoming. She even had an anniversary present for us. Thank you Melinda! The place felt full of love. It was decorated with pictures that allowed visitors to witness a young family grow up. Some of its walls were decorated with childhood pictures, family vacation pictures, and pictures of past generations, as well as the family's grown children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay and witness the promised stunning mountain views. We left about an hour after we arrived to the property when we realized that there was way to communicating with the outside world. There was no cell reception or land line. We couldn't find a way to reach our hostess. For personal reasons, we needed to be reachable and be able to make calls. It was not possible. We contacted our hostess in two occasions to let her know that we left earlier. She never returned our calls.

Summary: Plenty of space in the house and outside. There are many activities to keep you occupied. Perfect getaway with friends and family. Melinda was really friendly, and very responsive. She is a "super host" :)

Summary: It's a wonderful property, very well maintained and clean, with nice view of mountains and best place for stargazing. We (a group of 8 friends) went to the place for a farewell party. And we had an amazing experience. Away from digital noise. Melinda is also such a wonderful host. I would totally go back to this place in fall for fall colors.
