These cabins are only available outside our family from June 1st to August 31st. The rest of the year they are either closed for the winter or being enjoyed by us :)
Although very nice and comfortable, these cabins were built in the 1940s and have been updated several times to present day. There is no air conditioning, only good ole' fashion fans. They are rustic with screen doors that slam, original wood floors, original knotty-pine walls and original kitchen cabinetry.
All major systems are current and in inspected condition. These systems include electrical, media, heating, plumbing, and septic. We update and remodel something every year.
Mary and I work hard to keep the cabins and facilities in a safe, 'rustic' condition. We are active and caring owners, not a corporate rental agency.
Guests can arrive anytime after 4 PM on check in day and must check out by 10 am on check out day.

Summary: These little rustic cottages worked perfectly for our annual family get together on the lake. Normally we rent a large house or two for everyone, but found it was getting to be a little too much commotion. The little cottages on the lake provided the separation and open space to gather which made our vacation much more enjoyable.

Summary: Wonderful lake getaway with my family! It was so nice that there were 5 separate cabins and everyone had their privacy. We brought our boat and the lake couldn't be in more perfect. It had a shallow area that we dropped anchor and let the kiddos swim and play. The kids also stayed busy with the paddleboats and kayaks. Perfect place for our family!

Summary: Spent another week here this year. Our week was filled with lake fun including swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking. We watched the sunset every night while eating s’mores over the lakeside fire pit. The owner Dave is highly accessible and Really makes you feel welcome. This place is excellent for extended family getaways. If you need a break from the lake, the town is minutes away and so is excellent golf.

Summary: This is a great place to stay, everything about this property was great from the view to the space. We had a family of 11 and we had plenty of space. Everything you need to enjoy your days on the lake. It is also located where sight seeing was made easy. David was very nice and responsive. If I had to complain about anything it would be internet was not the greatest. But thats nothing major. Love this place if we come back to Michigan definitely would stay here again.Thank you David for such a great place for making our family vacation great.

Summary: Was there with my three sisters and their families to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday. Our group totaled 27 and the property accommodated the group nicely (though two of my teenage nephews chose to sleep in their tent for the fun of it!). We loved the on-site kayaks and pedal boats and used them a lot. The lake is very nice and we enjoyed the sunsets, the swimming, and fishing/kayaking/pedal boating. The cabins are nicely stocked with needed amenities. In short, if you’re looking for a Michigan inland lake vacation with a larger group, this is the place for you. My brother-in-law brought his boat and we kept it anchored to a buoy just a few yards off shore from the property for easy access. In addition to the above-noted activities, we water skied and went tubing. All around great time by all! We already blocked a week for next year!

Summary: With the pandemic, we were not able to cross the border into Canada for our annual fishing trip and needed to find an alternative. Acres of Arses was very similar to our Canadian cabins. They were rustic and charming. Loved that we were able to rent all 5 cabins for our group and not have other families on the property. Caught some blue gills, perch, walleye, smallmouth bass and sunfish. We would have liked to have been able to catch more that we could have kept for dinner! The lake was beautiful. Not many fishing boats. Plenty of wake boats and pontoons. If you bring a bigger boat, you may have to moor your boat instead of hooking up to the dock due to the high winds and dock capacity. Kids had plenty to do and loved the picnic tables, fire pits and kayaks. We even rented paddleboards from the marina nearby. Town was also nearby so we were able to get more groceries quickly. Great communication with the owner Dave. We enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the great Canadian alternative this camp provided to our family!

Summary: Our group of 25 (15 kids, 10 adults) throughly enjoyed our stay at Acres or Acres, 4th of July week 2020. I am not sure if the lake is always warm, but it was for us! We rented a pontoon boat from twin lake marina and had a blast. The whole town of Lewiston gets a 5 star rating from us, I even had to take my son to urgent care for swimmers ear and they and Rite Aid were great. The cabins themselves stayed cool at night with fans, and had plenty of room for us. Lots of pots, pans, and utensils provided. Don’t forget your pillow and blankets, but all sheets were provided. Internet for the cabins was very decent for up north. We would definitely go back.

Summary: We had a great time with our runners!! The cabins are great for holding our runners and they had so much fun with camp fires, and team bonding. Couldn't think of a better way to start the season than these cabins and wonderful northern Michigan!!
