This Japanese inspired timber home has a wall of floor to ceiling glass in the living area overlooking natural bush land. The enclosed garden area adds to the ambiance of this retreat for two. If tasteful simplicity and quality with a difference appeal to you, then Musk Creek Hollow will be to your liking. Located only a short seven minute drive from the centre of Daylesford, this property is both private and close to all the attractions that this beautiful region has to offer. Pet friendly, with a fully fenced internal garden, which is a secure area for your pets. Please note that the rear of the garden is NOT fenced so do not let your dog out the back door unsupervised. Also please clean up your pets in the garden area. Pets are not to be left inside the cabin unsupervised & are not permitted on the bed or furnishings.

Property description
This property captures a wonderful rustic Japanese aura. The long low building sits like a floating platform amidst the naturalistic landscaped garden. The structure's weathered, timber walls blend with the surrounds. The main expanse of the building has glass walls on either side & gives the space the open quality of a breezeway. This is the living space, barely separated from the Silver birches on one side & an internal courtyard garden on the other.
The cottage interior also has a naturally simple style. Smooth white walls and ceiling surfaces compliment elements of wood and glass. Carpet provides a quiet, soft texture underfoot. The focal point of the lounge area is a delightful wood burning fire.A big comfortable couch invites you to laze away the hours reading a favourite book, listening to music or watching a movie or your favourite series on the smart TV. You can access Netflix, Stan, binge & the rest using your urnlog in details
Description of Rooms/cottage
The bedroom has a queen size bed that faces a large picture window into the private, fully fenced garden. There is an en suite bathroom. All linen is provided for your stay.
A smart TV can be found in the living room.
In addition to the wood fire in the living area there is a split system air conditioner. There is also an electric panel heater in the bedroom & small blow Hester in the bathroom.
The ipod dock provides guests with the option of listening to your own music through your ipod or iphone. There is free wifi ( WiFi ID & password recorded at property)
Behind the dining area is a full kitchen with an electric oven, full size fridge, dishwasher and a microwave & dishwasher. There is ample crockery, cutlery & glassware as well as cooking utensils. Olive oil, salt, pepper & sugar is provided.
There is also plenty of tea and fresh coffee just waiting for you to brew as well as a Nespresso coffee pod machine with pods provided.

Summary: We had a very relaxing stay here at Musk Creek Hollow. Host communication was excellent. Everything was very clearly marked (usage instructions). Cabin was very tastefully decorated and spacious for a 2 bed cabin. Everything you could need for cooking was provided. Open wood fire lovely on colder evenings. Bed was extremely comfortable with electric blanket for those cold Central Highlands nights. Location is excellent just 7kms from Daylesford, short trip to Hanging Rock and Mt Macedon. Lots to see and do around here. Very enjoyable stay and highly recommend this spot.

Summary: It was a lovely stay overall, kitchen was well equipped for us to cook. I would say out overall stay was cosy and peaceful. The living room had the serene backdrop with the awesome fireplace for the cold nights.

Summary: Loved the character, cleanliness, relaxing serene view from all windows, warm and cosy. So handy to have a safe area outdoors for the dog to move around without being on her leash.Easy access drive to Daylesford itself and whilst on a main road still very quiet and private. Really liked the idea / view of forest behind the property.

Summary: Musk Creek Hollow must be unique. It is full of rustic and Japanese charm. Tastefully decorated and very cosy and well equipped. Despite being an older property, which gives it its rustic charm, it was very clean and comfortable. The large windows in main lounge area give way to delightful garden view. It was winter and very cold when we were there, but a split system aircon, electric wall heater and slow combustion heater, kept us warm. Overall, a lovely 3 day stay. Be aware though, there is little to see or do in Musk itself, but beautiful Daylesford and all it has to offer, is only a few minutes drive away. Martin was very welcoming...clear instructions on how to find it, and the heater was on when we arrived, together with a welcome notice and local information. There was also a wide range of CDs, DVDs and games. Recommended if you want to experience a change from the usual sterile, characterless, standard hotel rooms.
