Summary: Very close to park entrance (5 minutes) which was very nice. The host let us check in early with a room change that was very important as the park entrance closes at 2pm. Vigorous hike in park TOTALLY worth the effort. Communication with the host is only in Spanish. Property is nice but nothing fancy. Clean rooms, everything worked, no A/C but comfortable. The onsite Soda had very good food. The sister of the host was SUPER nice in spite of the language barrier. Would recommend.

Summary: This is a true Costa Rican experience. The place is within 1/2 mile of Rio Celeste and is at a high enough altitude that air conditioning is not needed. The accommodations are simple but clean and well-maintained. The property is gorgeous. The restaurant on site was excellent. The owners were very helpful and wonderful to deal with. I will go there again.

Summary: This hotel is in a nice garden setting and we wish we'd have more time to birdwatch in the gardens and make use of the restaurant on site. Unfortunately we were in a rush due to family issues and couldn't make full use of the beautiful location and did not even get up to see the spectacular blue falls the place is famous for and the lodge is very close to. The lodge needs better signs or directions for getting there since the GPS and cell phone service is spotty so we found it difficult to find. However, we would not hesitate to stay here again as the price is good and the location beautiful. Elias was very helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate our needs such as arriving late in the evening. The area was good for birds, sloths, and rainforest and we did a neat Tree Chocolate tour between Bijagua and Upala.
