Summary: They were able to let me check in a little early which was nice after a long day of traveling. As I looked around the room, I did notice there weren’t any pot, pans, silverware plates, bowls…a lot of the stuff one would find in a kitchen. I needed to go down to the front desk to ask if they have any of the above items. They did, but they are for purchase. The clerk did me a solid, since I was going to only eat breakfast in the room, all I needed to buy was a bowl and he had plastic flatware behind the counter and all I needed was a spoon. After a good night sleep, eating breakfast, I got cleaned up to get the day going. As I was showering, which was nice and strong and the water felt like it was softened…that last bit isn’t common in hotels and I approve. I noticed the tub drain was pretty slow. I had standing water up to just below my ankles. As left for the day I let staff at the front desk know about the slow drain and they said they’ll have fixed before I return. And they did. The rest of the stay was uneventful. The rate was reasonable. The room was comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would stay there again for next year’s Gen Con.

Summary: The receptionist at the front desk (Ashely) was amazing. She definitely deserves a raise. We were 4 hours early before check in and yet she accommodated us and got us into a room immediately. Also she heard us talking about getting breakfast somewhere gave us a recommendation that turned out to be some really great food. And inexpensive. She was very nice and informative. The hotel was very clean and better than we expected at an inexpensive price.

Summary: The room I chose had most of the amenities needed for a short stay. I was surprised that they did not clean the room every day. But overall the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Only hiccup was the keycard to the room quit working and they had to reissue another.

Summary: My Place has a Kitchenette in each room and a full size fridge which makes it convenient for families. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside is that their cleaning schedule is not always available. The front desk staff do provide towels and other supplies when needed. Lots of hotels are cutting back on their cleaning schedules so this is not unexpected.

Summary: Booked our suite for a seven-day stay. Nice main office and grounds lead you to believe the rooms will be far better than they are. Unfortunately, there is a SHOCKING difference between the upkeep of the rooms in comparison to the rest of the property. Carpet was very soiled, couch so dirty that we covered it with a sheet and used it to hold our luggage as there was no way we were going to sit or sleep on it. Dirty handprint on the kitchen wall. On one afternoon, a strong odor of bug spray entered our kitchen (come to find out it was from the adjacent room which our friends had been placed in. They had seen cockroaches on their first day, so they had then been moved to a different suite. Evidently maintenance was now bombing their original room and the odor was subsequently entering ours). I attempted to open the windows, but there were no screens on them (front window nor sliding door) even though the front desk assured me they had screens. Other inconveniences: kitchen was not stocked, unless you consider one plate, two bowls, a fork and a butter knife sufficient for a room advertised to host five guests. Only one packet of coffee for the coffee maker. No blow dryer, and when I requested one from the front desk they said they didn’t have any extras. One roll of toilet paper, only two bath towels. No housekeeping unless requested. We did request it once, but afterwards they didn’t replace anything we had used, except for the two towels. Multiple cigarette burns in bedding.

Summary: This is a clean, simple hotel. Nothing too fancy, but the room had everything I needed, and it just made sense. The only thing it was lacking was the complete lack of kitchen items, even though there's a kitchenette. If you wanted to make a meal in your room, you'd need to go out and get everything.
