NOTE: The common area is located in the middle of the 2 upper-level bedrooms, so you do walk thru it to get access to those bedrooms. But it is private in that it does not have an overlook to anything on the main level.

•Outdoors, the front deck is large enough for the whole group to enjoy the woods that surround the home. Also in front of the home, is a large, grassy lawn with picnic table. There is room to park multiple cars plus space to park the trailer for boats, ATVs, motorcycles and snowmobiles.
–Dogs Allowed–
This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.
–Location–
•This mountain home is in the heart of the Vallecito Lake Resort community located near the north end of the lake, which is a very convenient location to all lake area activities including boating, fishing, water skiing, hiking, horseback riding, road cycling, mountain biking, motorcycle riding (dirt and street), hunting in the fall, snowmobiling and more. There is also the ‘locals favorite’ cross country skiing trail along the Eastern edge of the lake, which is groomed all winter for both classic skiing and skate skiing. Appx 30 miles to downtown Durango and 55 miles to Purgatory Ski Resort.
–Things To Note–
•Consistent with most Colorado mountain areas, the home does not offer air-conditioning.
•This home is pet friendly! We allow up to 2 dogs. The pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.
Cancellation Policy: If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Summary: I loved the cabin! It had a warm cozy feel to it. It was great to watch the wildlife come around, the off beaten road location was relaxing. We hiked, fished, sight saw, and then ran out of days ... going back soon!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this well loved family home. The well stocked kitchen complete with condiments, sugar, and a first aid kit was much appreciated. There were plenty of beds for the children, and space for the adults too. The region was just lovely and the kids were able to play safely outside and go for walks in the neighborhood, and enjoyed the videos and toys in the house, too. We went for a hile on the beautiful Pine River Trail just 15 mins from the house, and enjoyed the scenic Silverton-Durango railway. A beautiful and comfortable spot. Thank you for your hospitality! Summary: Nana's cabin was clean and well stocked. My husband and I felt like we were visiting our grand parents. Cozy home. The mattresses could use an upgrade, but other than that everything was great.

Summary: Nana's house was a definite WIN with this group of 8 senior adults. Since I was the one who found it and booked it, it was very important to me that my friends all liked it. It was a peaceful and beautiful setting in a wooded area that was so quiet you could hear the birds chirping all day. The home had plenty of room for all of us, great amenities such as a fully stocked kitchen, large fluffy white towels that were in abundance, toiletry items that were such a sweet addition, mostly very comfy beds and so much more! Our one and only disappointment was that the whole deck, patio tables and chairs were so dirty when we arrived that we had to spend 30 minutes getting that all cleaned up before we could use it. (Bird droppings, tree droppings and lots of dirt on chairs and tables.) Minor compared to the big picture but I would recommend that the caretakers do that for guests. Communication was super easy and friendly, value for the home was really great and a good time was had by all!!
