Positive: We loved The Nature House! Set back well off the busy road and surrounded by jungle this family run boutique hotel is a gem! The rooms are large and stylish and the common areas are spotless with lovely loungers on the verandahs. The whole place speaks of the owners many years of hospitality experience. Thilak was charming and efficient. If you want a relaxing and well run base in Udawalawe you should book The Nature House.

Positive: A beautiful stay nestled in nature. Rooms were impeccable with everything thought of. Our hosts were wonderful and very friendly. We had been warned of some accomodations in udawalawe making you book safaris through them directly or denying you a room, this is not one of those places. When we checked in we were offered a tour but our hosts were perfectly fine with us having one booked from outside. Dinner buffet was to die for and breakfast was wonderful.

Positive: I had an amazing stay at Nature House in Udawalawe. This beautifully run family hotel exceeded all expectations — the rooms were spotless, the pool area was peaceful and beautifully maintained, and the location is perfect with very easy access to Udawalawe National Park. All of the food is homemade and absolutely delicious, and the customer service from start to finish was outstanding. The family who run it are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about making your stay special. I would highly recommend Nature House to anyone visiting Udawalawe. A wonderful experience all round!

Positive: I can not recommend this beautiful family run hotel enough. we had the pleasure of staying in this little Gem and is definitely the most memorable we have had since our travels began The service and information from the family was 10/10 The food well ...the buffet for the evening meal was a real sri Lanka experience with curries, veg , salad and was the best we tasted since we began or travels in Sr Lanka The hotel is spotlessly clean And has the benefit of a lovely swimming pool which was amazing Breakfast again was spectacular The owner organises the safari Trip for us which was exceptional If you are visiting Udawalawe safari Park please do not miss this hotel it's such great value, and is a definitely a 10/10 experience thank you we had the best time

Our rooms - the pool - AND the opportunity to visit the Elephant Orphanage and do the best safari ( 4 hours up close with elephants ) - all organised by the hotel - really made our stay. The breakfast and curry buffet for dinner one evening made this stay PERFECT - this is a must stay place

The kids absolutely loved the large pool, and we enjoyed having breakfast, lunch, and dinner on-site—all of which were outstanding. The family who owns and runs the property were not only kind and welcoming but also genuinely engaged with guests, making us feel cared for throughout our stay. The location is ideal, close to the national park, and the team went above and beyond by arranging both our safari and our transfers between accommodations.
