Summary: We had a lovely week here in August 2020 despite the family we had planned with being able to travel with us at the last minute due to Covid quarantine restrictions . There was plenty to do on site and several days we stayed at the property enjoying the pool, table tennis, badminton and pรฉtanque, There was also play equipment for younger children . The house and garden were both very well equipped with extras such as wood for the bbq, pool toys , fleece blankets ( not needed in August !) and everything you could ever need for cooking / dining. We spent a day out at the beach , one at Lake Salagou and also a vine yard tour . The house has the benefit of being in a very quiet setting but with the benefit of having the facilities of Montpellier within a short drive.including the Intermarche and decathlon. Vincent was a great host , coming to find us when we missed the turning to the house on arrival, booking tables at restaurants, bringing us freshly baked bread and answering any queries. We would love to go back

Summary: We had an amazing week in Assas. It was perfect for children and adults. House was well equipped and spacious, swimming pool ideal for whole family and there was a huge garden for the children to roam safely within. The house even had a separate bar area so we rarely spent an evening in same area of house! Would highly recommend to all for a fun and relaxing holiday in the south of France!

Summary: We stayed for a fortnight and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house sits in a truly delightful spot - even more beautiful in the flesh than the photos. The track from the road is a little challenging in places so drive carefully. Also, when arriving make sure you have written directions to hand (or use Google Maps satellite view to track down the distinctive oval pool) as the location on the HomeAway platform isn't accurate. Vincent, the owner, is immensely welcoming and helpful (and quickly drove to meet us when we failed to find the place.) There is a large annex for his use attached to the house (not mentioned in the description online), and he and occasionally some other guests were present at weekends, but he took care not to disturb us - in fact we barely noticed he was there except when he brought us armfuls of delicious fresh bread each morning! The house is generally beautifully furnished, well equipped and well maintained, and the views from the large living room are glorious. But we thought there was some room for improvement: the bedding is of uneven quality and one of the two bathrooms (which also includes one of the two toilets) can only be accessed via a bedroom, so we felt a little under provided for in that department at times. The outdoor facilities are very impressive, with all manner of games on offer and a bar area equipped with its own sound system overlooking a petanque court. Vincent gave us licence to make plenty of noise late into the night, but I should mention another house in the area took the same approach one night and their sound system was even more powerful than ours. The heated pool was lovely โ€“ just the right temperature to be very refreshing but not too great a shock to the system when jumping in.

Summary: As soon as we saw the villa we were all wowed by how beautiful it was and the surrounding gardens. We have 4 children aged between 7 and 13 and there was plenty for them to do all week. Everything had been thought about, including pool toys and floats, board games for odd rainy day, bikes and footballs. The remoteness of the villa meant that we didn't have to worry about the noise of the children playing. The villa itself was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The photos don't even do it justice. We all had a fantastic weekend and we're very sorry to leave. I would 100% recommend this villa for a memorable family holiday.

Summary: Mas de Tarnie - what a wonderful place! The family had a splendid holiday here three years ago, and this time it was even better. This beautiful house now has a new conservatory, giving us an even better view over the garden, which is as lovely as ever, with plenty of room for the (heated!) pool and all the games which kept the children busy all the time. There were 12 of us, with me (Grandma) down to the six year old. And it suited all of us. We never got under each other's feet, because there is so much space. I had a nice room on the ground floor, almost like my own flat, with bathroom and loo really close.. The house is very well equipped, with big comfy sofas and colourful paintings and a splendid kitchen. It was fun doing the shopping at the big Intermarchรฉ at Jacou, not far away. In Montpellier, the energetic people did a Segway tour, whilst the others enjoyed ice creams in the Place de la Comรฉdie, watching acrobats and musicians. It's a lovely, lively city with a fascinating historical centre. You can explore further afield, to medieval Aigues Mortes and St. Guilhem le Dรฉsert, and to the Pont du Diable, where Dad lost a shoe in the river last time....Then home to the calm and peace of our Mas. The house and grounds are very well maintained, and our hosts were extremely welcoming and efficient. Oh what a perfect holiday! Elizabeth from Brighton.

Summary: |This was our second visit to Mas de Tarnie and we enjoyed it even more this time. The house has a beautiful new conservatory on it from which you can sit at the huge dining table and watch the sunrise (if you awake early enough). The house is fully stocked with everything you could need like washing machine, tons of crockery, drying rack for wet swimming costumes, towels and bedding. The swimming pool is heated now so I even ventured in without squealing in April as the weather was lovely. Plenty of wildlife to listen to and greenery all around the garden which has been restocked with a huge assortment of children's play equipment like a large netted trampoline and goal, swingball set, hammock, table tennis table etc. From the house we drove to the Intermarche most days for groceries or jogged into Assas for the bakery. The tram into Montpellier is also close by so we ventured into the town to go on segways as well as driving to Aigues-Mortes and the beach for day trips. The bedrooms are shuttered to keep out light and insects, and are comfortable and very clean. The lounge area is big enough for our family of 12 to all sit together comfortably on 3 sofas. I'm missing it already! Susanna S

Summary: This location surpassed our expectations. The house is large, more than enough space for up to ten people, well furnished. We loved the big garden, the terrasse and the children enyoed the heatet pool. This estate is a bit offside, no direct neighbours but surrounded by wine yards. By car the nice village Assas and several markets are within reach of 3 - 5 km Everything was neet and tidy. The contact was courteous and very friendly, thank you Vincent A perfect place to relax We strongly recommend and consider to come back next year

Summary: This was an ideal holiday at Mas de Tarnie - such a beautiful house in a beautiful setting. It is very well equipped and comfortable, with splendid views. (And we were lucky enough to have wonderful hot weather.) We are a family of 11, ranging in age from Grandma down to a three-year-old, and we all loved it. There's a good supermarket at Jacou, not far away. And from Jacou you can take a tram into the heart of Montpellier - lovely town, historic and sophisticated at the same time. The three teenage boys and one of the dads enjoyed a tour on Segways through the old district. Some of us sat outside a cafรฉ in the Place de la Comรฉdie and watched the musicians and acrobats, while our little ones found an imaginative playground quite near. Then all 11 of us piled into a little tourist "train" and had a tour of the town. We had a day in Nรฎmes, looking for ancient Romans. And were transported back to the Middle Ages at picturesque St. Guilhem le Dรฉsert. The children loved the aquarium at Odysseum, accessible by tram from Montpellier, followed by lunch at the Pirate Cafรฉ nearby (complete with real pirates, a pirate ship and a battle....) A week wasn't long enough. Thank you Vincent, for welcoming us and being so helpful, and thank you Natalie and Paul for keeping the place so clean and attractive. Elizabeth and Family (Brighton).

Summary: We came here for a week long holiday at the beginning of September, and were blown away by how beautiful the villa was. Stunning views, lovely peaceful location, great outdoors areas and pool. The villa was beautifully decorated but still felt comfy and cosy. Vincent and Natalie were incredibly helpful, we couldn't have asked for better hosts! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone wanting to holiday in the South of France, and I would love to go back myself!
