Summary: We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lakefront home. We all enjoyed the dock from morning to sunset. The kids loved fishing while the adults enjoyed kayaking and paddleboarding. So much to do in the beautiful outdoors right at our fingertips. We had plenty of room indoors and a very well appointed kitchen. The kids loved the bunk beds and driving on the 2 mile gravel road in. It is somewhat of a drive to the house from the main road but once there - it's well worth it!

Summary: We stayed here as a big family (4 separate families) and had a blast! The house is gorgeous, the pictures really don’t do it justice. The space is plenty big for large groups yet it feels super cozy. It’s very well maintained and clean and the beds were very comfortable! The owners were quick to respond and help us when we couldn’t get the fireplace working. We never could get it to come on but they tried everything they could and we appreciated the responsiveness. The area is beautiful. We went on hikes, used the kayaks, and made s’mores in the fire pit. We spent a day trip into Bryson City and even drove to Dollywood for a day. It’s a great location. We were all sad to leave the cabin but so thankful for our time together in such a beautiful place.

Summary: The cabin was the perfect place for our family Thanksgiving getaway! There was plenty of space for all of us. 7 adults and 5 kids. The kitchen has everything you could need to make a feast. The cabin is remote and a great place to get away and unwind. A true gem on Lake Nantahala. Thanks for the memories in a beautiful spot.

Summary: Wonderful accommodations with plenty of room for everyone! Kitchen was great for cooking large meals and enough seating for everyone to dine together. Bedrooms were great. This wonderful lodge is located at the end of a two mile road. Take the drive slow and be sure to read the directions provided entirely. Wholeheartedly recommend a long weekend or week vacation here for you and your extended family. Very kid friendly, plenty of games, toys and outdoor places to explore.

Summary: We gathered for a week of lake life. Your place was spacious and an ideal setting in this quiet cove of Lake Nantahala. The marina was close and accommodated our motorized boating needs. Your dock along with the kayaks provided many afternoons and evenings of being near and in the water together. The house especially the kitchen offered a place to gather and prepare meals together. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and quiet. Thank you!

Summary: We had our three children and 5 grandchildren with us for the week of June 11-18th. Everyone had enough space and the grandkids loved the bunk beds! The lake is beautiful and we kayaked and swam all day. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about this property!

Summary: Our family gathered for a week at Lazy Bear Lodge and everyone left loving the place. The owners have left everything you need to make lasting memories for years to come. It was perfect for our 6 adults and 7 children. We rented a boat for 2 days- the lake is large and very little boat traffic. Kids loved the kayaks and swimming off the dock. The water is crystal clear. A perfect stay for a family reunion! The 2 mile gravel road was tough for us city folks but very manageable. We would recommend this property for anyone wanting to get away form it all and enjoy a beautiful mountain lodge on a great lake.

Summary: We rented this cabin for a short family vacation - 3 generations. 7 adults (57years-34years) and 8 children (17-6 years). The property was absolutely stunning! We had about 3 inches of snow our first day which was perfect for our FL grandkids who had never seen snow. The accommodations were extreme comfortable and spacious. A couple of drawbacks were that on day 2 we noticed the first floor fridge didn’t seem cold and the ice maker wasn’t making ice. There was a functioning fridge and ice maker on the lower level so this really was just a nuisance and not a trip spoiler. Even though it was cumbersome we had enough kiddos to “run” between upstairs and downstairs carrying items. I was a little disappointed with the communication from the host. The same day we noticed the fridge issue we had a small ceiling leak on the lower floor that was apparently from the shower above. I have stayed in several rentals and know to do everything that I can to protect the hosts’ property and we did just that. When I messaged the owner about both things the response was to be sure that the fridge door was sufficiently closed or the ice maker would not operate. I ensured that the host’s directions were followed but we never succeeded in getting the fridge to operate to a point that it was usable. Luckily we had a couple of days of sub freezing temps and we stored some items out on the porch to keep cold…much colder than the fridge. There was no response to the leak issue. I messaged another time to update the host with no reply at all. Overall this property is wonderful and we had a beautiful time being together! The goods definitely outweighed the “bads”. One more thing that renters need to be aware of is that it is your responsibility to take the trash to a dump located in town, you can only leave what will fit in two 33 gallon cans at the cabin. This proved to be a huge task for us (and we had a family member with a pickup truck). This “rule” wasn’t communicated to us until we received the detailed instructions once we paid in full. As we were told, the cabin is located very remotely and you are well advised to NOT depend on going back down the mountain to the store. This means we brought 4 days worth of food/drink for 15 people…we generated a “little” trash for sure. Again, if we had not had a family member with a pickup it would have been impossible for us to haul 6 large trash bags to the dump. Overall awesome! Host communication could improve.

Summary: The cabin is wonderful and obviously the owners have made every effort to make this site comfortable in every way! The two miles on the gravel road leading to the cabin is nerve-wracking, though!😥We had a marvelous trip!
