2 Bedroom Apartment in Lexington, Buena Vista

This is a large, 1300 sf newly remodeled ground floor apartment with a private patio and open views to the east toward the Blue Ridge Mountains. The apartment has a separate, private entrance. (If you look at the photos, you walk down a path between the house and barn and along a gravel path to the apartment). There’s a very large living area with a conversation grouping, 48” Samsung smart TV, a Nordic Trak in the corner for gentle use, and a reading nook. The bedroom has a new queen-sized bed and ensuite bath, and there’s a double futon in the main living area. The kitchen has a full fridge, 2-burner induction cooktop, and microwave/convection oven combo, along with plenty of cooking gear. The spot is very peaceful and beautiful, while being convenient to town. Guests have exclusive use of the back patio (there’s a back porch to the main house up a set of stairs at the edge of the patio, so sound can potentially carry over). We’re on a quiet paved road that serves only the 15 houses in the neighborhood. The place is 2.5 miles from the East Lexington bridge over the Maury River, and 3 miles from downtown Lexington. The drive takes 8 or 9 minutes. My wife and I live in the house above the apartment, and have a beagle that occasionally bays but has never been aggressive. We’re located about a half mile from the middle access to the Chessie Trail, a hiking/biking path that follows the Maury River from Lexington to Buena Vista. It’s 9 miles from the house to the Skyline Parkway, and there are numerous great hikes in the area.

Summary: We enjoyed this property. We were visiting VMI for family weekend Well stocked, plenty of room, comfortable and homey. Lots of added touches like snacks and some basic foods (bread, milk eggs, cereal) to get folks started. Workout equipment! Nicely decorated. Beautiful views with a lovely patio. Would stay again.

Summary: This was the perfect place for our family to stay while visiting W&L for the weekend. It was clean, had gorgeous views, thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge, and a responsive host. We stayed with our toddler and felt right at home with a pack and play, highchair, and streaming services on the TV. He even allowed us to check in early for the kiddo’s naptime! Less than 10 mins to downtown Lexington, too. Really glad we stayed here.

Summary: The view from the patio is amazing. The apartment is the bottom floor of a beautiful home. We booked a last minute trip and the owner (who lives there) was very responsive and cooperative. They left milk, cream, coffee, eggs, muffins and cereal and snacks. Lovely touch. The area is fun to explore and apartment is in a central location. Lexington is 10 minutes away, nice college town. Many hikes and trails nearby. Several good restaurants. Very enjoyable.

Summary: Loved the location and views. Owner Kirk was great with communications and answers to my questions. Place was very nice and most of what owner described was accurate. I loved having breakfast food available- nice extra touch. Only downside was a lot of flies who invaded the place- especially near the breakfast area. Also 2 noisy dogs- especially the smaller, noisier dog- and people (and dogs) walking the floors above at 4:45 am the night we arrived were a bit much to handle. Other than that it was great rental in hard-to-find lodging for W&L graduation in Lexington VA.
