New for 2024: New Reverse Osmosis water filtration system. New Gel Memory foam toppers on Queen beds and an electric ice cream maker. New marina cafe/restaurant directly across from our townhome. Excellent Bahamian and American cuisine. Swings, picnic tables and hammock are now available at Dannenberg Park. Please ask Jeff for more details. Also, the new airport opened in Nov 2022.
Enjoy your vacation on a truly authentic Bahamas "Out Island" on the beautiful and storied island of Great Harbor Cay. There are two master suites with private balconies overlooking the expansive ocean marina with full facilities upstairs and a half bath downstairs, as well as a fully modernized kitchen on the first floor with all the amenities and comforts of home.
If miles of secluded and private beaches, championship fishing and expansive coral reefs are your perfect idea of a getaway, then look no further than Great Harbor Cay. Located at the northern tip of The Berry Islands, visitors and homeowners alike can spend a day getting lost in its picturesque and virtually untouched scenery. Snorkeling and fishing enthusiasts flock from all over the world to experience the wonders within and near the Cays. For the thrill seekers, a 600' deep ''Blue Hole" on nearby Hoffman's Cay has been a main attraction for those brave enough to jump in. Please see attached video. Also, if you enjoy conch, take a short boat ride to Little Harbor Cay and experience the famous "Flo's Conch Shack".
Things to do:
Island hop, explore the island by bicycle, scooter or car, make your own ice cream, spearfish, bonefish, offshore fishing, play ping pong, hiking, beaching, shelling, swimming, snorkeling, explore beach caves, jump in and swim the Blue Hole, cooking, bicycling, read a book, play a game, write a poem, kayak, watch a movie on the new flat screen TV, ride a bicycle, Friday night ''Grill and Chill'', watch the beautiful sunset from your private balcony, kite boarding, play with the kids on the beach, put together a 3-D puzzle, take a nap on the hammock or do nothing.
Fishing:
Great Harbor Cay and the Berry Islands have long been known as the Sportfishing Capital of the Bahamas. You can catch Marlin, Sailfish, wahoo, Grouper, Mutton and yellowtail snapper, Bonefish, Yellow Fin and Black Fin Tuna and many other game fish now and throughout the year. From GHC you can easily fish "The Pocket" and Chub Cay, Hole In The Wall, The Channel and the many live reefs that surround GHC. Please feel free to contact Jeff for the most up to date fishing reports and available guides.
How to get here:
Take your boat. It is an easy run from South Florida or you could make a welcome stop on your way back from the Abaco's or further south.
Fly into the local airport. There are daily flights to Nassau, NAS. You can then take Leair from Nassau to Great Harbor Cay, GHC. Also, there are direct flights from Ft. Lauderdale.
Makers Air, Aztec Airways and Tropic Ocean Airways offers a quick, 50 minute, non-stop service from Ft.Lauderdale, FLL, to Great Harbour Cay.
If you have a party of 5 or more, it might make sense to charter a plane.

ps the island, for the most part, operates on a cash basis. Just a few establishments including the marina, accept credit cards at this time.

Summary: The townhouse was perfect for our boating group. Great dockage below the living area. The unit was spotless and well appointed. Everything was there for us and everything worked. We had one very small need and the property manager took care of us in under an hour. Great place to stay!

Summary: Jeff’s property is well setup for fishing. Has all the essentials you need for an amazing trip to GHC. I’ve stayed at a few of the townhouses in this area and Jeff’s is setup comfortably with good working AC, hot water and a functional dock with good piling bumpers. Would stay again
