Summary: This property was perfectly nestled about 8 minutes from our mothers condo. My brother and I came from California to visit for Mothers Day. We stayed for a week. Steve was very accommodating, checking in with us just enough to see if we needed anything and to ensure everything was ok. My brother and I both live pretty healthy lifestyles so he was able to go for his morning run in a safe neighborhood and I was able to practice my yoga both inside in the large kitchen area and outside on the patio. Steve even provided me with a yoga mat! We were able to cook most of our meals at home which was very nice. The beds were supremely comfortable. In fact, Steve if you see this, text me the brand of beds and pillow you use! I got home and was disappointed in my own bed! Haha. My brother and I did a lot of things with our mom during the week because the home is conveniently located. We went to Virginia Beach, and D.C., which was a bit of a drive but when you’re from California it really was no big deal. Overall, I was extremely happy with our stay at the cottage and when I go back to see my mom I definitely will be staying here again.

Summary: I highly recommend this place. It was absolutely spotless, not to mention the beds, the sheets and the pillows were the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in ever! The cottage has a portable air conditioner that I was first concerned about but that was not a problem at all. It was 90 degrees out and the place stayed nice and cool! It is connected to the property owners house but that was never a problem. I couldn’t say enough nice things about Steve and his wife Jess they were beyond amazing! They gave us our space but were always there too if we needed ideas on places to go eat. It’s also located in a perfect area, everything from stores, to parks to restaurants is within 5-15mins! I couldn’t of found a better place for such a great price! This will be my go to in Newport News!!

Summary: Very comfortable beds. Ad was a bit confusing. I was under the impression there was one queen bed and an air mattress. There are two queen beds! Very comfy. There are also a couple air mattresses (don’t know the size). Friendly family whom respected privacy. I will stay again. Had an issue with the door lock. It was quickly fixed. The response on the messaging app was not great until I asked about it. They provide their numbers and always seem to be available. I stayed for 10 nights. There was adequate hand soap and dish soap (both dawn and dishwasher) provided. Only two packets each (one use) of shampoo and conditioner provided. Less than a half roll of paper towels. Laundry detergent was provided but there was only enough for a few loads. Only trash bags were in the two trash cans in the kitchen. The A/C is a portable unit in the bedroom/living area. It did not adequately cool in 80+ weather. During the day it was unbearable in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. Opening the windows does not help as there is not a way to obtain a cross breeze. The owner said their A/C went out which provides some of the cool air to the rental unit. They apologized profusely and asked if I could use an extra fan. There are two ceiling fans that move the air quite well. Hopefully when they get their main A/C fixed it will help. The Internet was ok. At times Netflix would freeze. I never seemed to loose signal but at times it was faint. A router restart may have solved the issues. The holder for the TV trays seems broken. So be careful that it doesn’t fall and hurt anyone’s legs or feet. The host asked often if everything was ok. I had only mentioned the issue with the door lock and A/C. Posting the above info as an FYI rather than criticism. As I said, I will likely stay again.

Summary: We were in the area for the 54th Annual VA State Youth Annual Bowling Tournament and this location was centrally located between both Bowling Centers. We could not have had a better experience for our stay in Newport News,
