Summary: Nice stay, central location and a lively street on your doorstep. We were six couples visiting Amsterdam, this hotel was spot on for our group, everyone liked their rooms very well.

Summary: The hotel is very centrally located, in a lively area full of restaurants, bars, and shops. The tram stop is right in front of the hotel. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are very clean, though perhaps a bit small.

Summary: NH Caransa is located near Rembrandtplien, a busy area in Amsterdam. As a result, the tram traffic to the hotel is frequent, and the area is often noisey. Rooms at the front of the hotel are affected by the outdoor noise. It appears that the hotel is about 50 years old, yet the facilities seem to be in working order. The hotel lacks a lobby because the space has been rented to ground floor restaurants.

Summary: I have stayed at many NH branded hotels in Amsterdam during the last 12 years. The NH Caransa today is the only affordable hotel among them. It is a fine place.
