Positive: Location excellent for visiting the palace. We were offered an upgrade to a suite facing the palace, which we took, at an additional cost of EUR45 (which also included free parking under the hotel, which would otherwise have cost us EUR18) - we had originally booked a single room facing the palace. They also gave us a complimentary plate of ham/cheese/bread nibbles in our room. The hotel is very much at the luxury end of the market and everything was very clean and slick. The suite (including one bathroom and one shower room) was really too big for us, especially as we were only there for one night. The aircon worked well. Reception were very helpful.
Negative: In spite of the overall luxury, there was no power on one side of the bed for phone charging, which was a bit odd. Also, the overly complicated light switching arrangements by the bed were simply confusing - a gadget for the sake of it which left you turning various lights on and off at random before you found the switch (out of about 9) that you were looking for.
Summary: Lovely location, we should have probably done without the suite!

Positive: Staff, dog friendly, lovely location, clean and spacious room, secure parking, flexible with regards to our late change of date due to ferry delay
