Positive: The owners and the staff are fabulous. Very attentive in every aspect and always ready to help. They literally did everything to keep us happy. The girls at the counter were so sweet and cooked excellent meals for us. They don't speak English well, but nothing that a quick Google Translate couldn't fix. And honestly, who even cares if they are so sweet and attentive? Also, free water and coffee were available. I love coffee and water; having them available logistically helps a lot when you have a small baby. Plus, the restaurant area is so cozy, and they cook very good meat too, should you choose lunch or dinner. True, breakfast can't be chosen, but most of the time it was very good (although maybe portions could be a tad bigger)... And our little one absolutely loved the fruit plates the sweet staff prepared for her. Everything was kept very well, and we loved the concept of sleeping in bamboo houses. The owner told us that a person once saw the houses and decided not to stay: they surely missed an experience! The houses are gracious, designed with love, and spacious. Also, we LOVED the concept of a semi-open bathroom and toilet. Sure, you would get an insect or two (as another review pointed out), but what about the experience of showering and bathing totally in privately open air? Yes, there is also a super spacious bathtub.
Negative: While room cleaning was excellent, the bathroom sometimes needed a bit more attention, i.e., with toilet paper restocking and bin emptying...but overall it is a minor thing. However, beware that the area is full of dogs. We love dogs, but one night, the only night we came back walking from the convenience store across the street, we were barked at by a pack of dogs, and one of them came quite close to us. We stayed cool and didn't run, but the experience was nonetheless very scary because we were with a toddler in the stroller. The owner told us later that all the dogs in the area are not dangerous, and they all got injections from their owners...Still, I would advise caution when walking at night (if not for the scare factor, and if you have babies). Most probably not dangerous, of course, but worth knowing.
Summary: A wonderful stay, incredible owners. Huge potential.
