Summary: Great place to stay with private beach access (9-min walk), close to Mattituck (Mattitaco within walking distance) and easy driving to most of the North Fork wineries. The property is exactly as pictured, the outdoor dining area with bbq and firepit is great and Alex was super responsive throughout our stay. The private beach is a huge plus - the water in the Peconic Bay is warmer than the sound and a lot calmer, and the beach is rarely crowded. A real gem. This was our 2nd stay and we'll be back!

Summary: After spending a delightful and relaxing two weeks at this property, we would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the best location hands down in the North Fork of Long Island. The combination of a main house plus separate, private guest quarters is ideal for two couples or family/friends. The privacy fence and patio that join the two buildings are well designed. The property overall gives visitors a sense of harmony, order, quiet, and relaxation. We appreciated the beautifully maintained front and back yards, many shade trees, water feature, outdoor lighting, generous driveway and parking area, brick and flagstone paths, outdoor furniture and grill, fire pit and seating area, etc. We glimpsed a few deer in the woods beyond the back yard, saw a friendly turtle, and enjoyed the antics of blue jays and a red-bellied woodpecker among other birds. As great as all the features of the property are, the best by far is the location, including private beach access. The beach on Great Peconic Bay is at the end of the road, a 5-7 minute walk away, and passes are provided by the host. The beach is for residents who live on the road and their guests, so it's never crowded. The atmosphere is low-key, with families (mostly with young and very well-behaved children) and couples. Water is shallow, with a mix of sand and pebbles on and near the beach, but a sandy bottom further out. We saw people of all ages enjoy the water, swimming, wading, floating, paddle-boarding. The property is also perfectly located for an easy walk or quick drive to everything you might want to do. There's a small shopping center nearby with a supermarket, movie theater, liquor store (with a wall of Long Island wines), and four restaurants (we tried and loved CJ's, Goldberg's Bagels, and Lucharitos). Also nearby, Magic Fountain has fantastic ice cream, and in the town's little shopping district, the Village Cheese Shop and Love Lane Kitchen are a must. The town itself is at the center of the North Fork, and we were able to easily visit Greenport, Orient, and Orient Point and enjoy all they have to offer. Wineries are everywhere, and we took advantage of our host's recommendations and enjoyed casual, convivial tastings nearby with views of vineyards and friendly staff. In fact, virtually everyone we met in the North Fork--residents and visitors alike--were truly friendly and welcoming in a low-key, comfortable way. We are looking forward to a return visit!

Summary: We stayed for 2 weeks in September. Alex was communicative and responsive and the house was exactly as described. The back yard, firepit and bbq were great for hanging out and we had deer wandering through the garden and a hawk visiting most days. The private beach is a 9 minute walk down a quiet road with a sidewalk and we had it to ourselves most weekdays. The water in the Peconic bay is usually calm and warm and great for swimming. Mattitaco and the ice cream store are walkable in the other direction and a supermarket and liquor store are just over the road in the mini-mall. The house is convenient for Mattituck / Love Lane and Jamesport to the West, and super close to the wineries in jamesport and on Oregon Road. We had a great couple of weeks and I don't have anything negative to say about the house or it's location.

Summary: We had a perfect holiday and New Year's stay - house is as gorgeous as pictured and even better. Close to everything, but set back from the road and nestled in a preserve so feels very secluded. Even in winter, we walked to the beach at the end of the road each day - and then warmed up by the huge fireplace with hot cocoa and puzzles. Well stocked with the essentials, and thoughtfully appointed. Strong wi-fi for two remote workers and one remote learner. We hope to be back in warmer weather to take advantage of the awesome backyard setup and all the scooters and bikes!

Summary: This house was my family's home for six weeks in the spring, and I think we got very lucky with our choice! The house has a modern beach house feel, with beautiful stone details on the main floor and a bright and spacious interior. The main house has one large bedroom and one shower bathroom on the first floor, along with the living/dining and kitchen, and two smaller bedrooms on the second floor. One of those bedrooms is "on the way" to the other bedroom, so it works best for one family. The guesthouse above the garage has one spacious bedroom with a separate bathroom, and a kitchenette/sink, which is a great option for a separate small family or grandparents. Both the backyard and front yard are very spacious, and we enjoyed playing with tons of stuff in the garage, riding scooters in the driveway, and riding bikes around the neighborhood (there are 2 adult bikes and 1 child bike). The waterfall and pond in the front yard is very peaceful on a nice day! The location of the house is awesome: 2 min walk to CVS, 5 min walk to a supermarket and shopping plaza, and 10 min walk to the beach and beach playground at Veteran's Beach. There are also plenty of restaurants and great pizza in both Mattituck and the nearby towns of Laurel and Jamesport, as well as plenty of wineries and farm stands. Communication with Alex was easy and he was very helpful and responsive. We would highly recommend choosing this house for your North Fork getaway!
