Summary: This property proved to be delightful: a short walk into “ town” to pick up the papers and then have breakfasts at the wonderfully old fashioned “Colonel’s bakery “ ( great service); close to the in -town wharf for ferry service to the islands ( ilesford lobster lunch : great) and private boat tours of Sommes sound etc; found Jordan pond for popovers and lunch remarkably easy to get into thanks to Cathy’s careful instructions; played golf at the local public course ( Kebo) which proved to be breathtaking and challenging. House is immaculate and exactly as described, lovingly curated and happily non-fussy. A great find!

Summary: Little Fox was the ideal base for this first visit to Acadia by my husband and me and our daughter and son-in-law. The house is thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, and it is in immaculate and attractive condition. The beds are very comfortable, and the small galley kitchen was adequate for making breakfast and lunch and several simple dinners. We liked the short walk into the charming village of Northeast Harbor. The location was close to access to the park. We much appreciated our host, Cathy, for her helpful tips about the area and her quick responses to all our questions. Her organization of all logistics of the rental was excellent.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at the Little Fox....Northeast Harbor is a charming neighborhood and the house was very convenient to go to the beach, lobster pound, Arcadia park, etc. Cathy was very easy to work with in setting up the reservation and had lots of great recommendations for restaurants, activities, etc in the area. We checked many things off her list and had a wonderful time with our family. Would love to stay at the Little Fox again!

Summary: Little Fox was an amazing getaway for our family. It’s location was perfect—walking distance to shops and food, quiet, but a quick drive away from Bar Harbor or into Acadia. It was immaculate, and we won’t hesitate to stay here again.

Summary: This is the second time my husband andI have stayed at this lovely property. The cottage is immaculately kept, and tastefully, yet comfortably furnished. The kitchen is amply stocked with all the plate, glass, silverware and other cooking tool for cooking-in. There is a small outdoor grill on the front porch too. The cottage is conveniently located to downtown Northeast Harbor, right off Rt. 3. And while the are no harbor views, the location is very practical for walking into town to dine out, grab a lunch or breakfast sandy, or pick up sundries at the local market. The outside of the cottage is attractively landscaped with perennial flowers, ground cover, and shrubs. Overall, the cottage and its proprieter/owner has served us very well, proving a lovely place to call home for a week while exploring the many wonders of Acadia NP and MDI. We highly recommend it, and logistics of our stay, getting in and checking out, and communicating with the owner/housekeeper re: questions or needs, etc...have always been seamless.

Summary: I believe a previous reviewer said the photos of this house do not do it justice. We couldn't agree more! We knew this was a beautiful little cottage though were absolutely wowed when we entered the property. The landscaping, outdoor seating and indoor furnishings were all fantastic. The kitchen was a little small though plenty of space for travelers needs - we especially loved the Wolf gas range for cooking breakfast scrambled eggs each morning incorporating scallops, lobster, haddock, and halibut from the previous nights dinner. For my wife and our 2-year old daughter, it was so incredibly perfect. In fact, we gained some inspiration for our own newly built home. As far as location, we felt it was spot on - a quick walk to Northeast Harbor which has a few cafes and a market (I spoke to the owner, and yes, the $2.99 lobster rolls are 100% locally caught Maine lobster!). If you like hiking, access to hiking trails is about 200' from the front door. I did around a 5-mile hike up to Norumbega Mtn and back which took (a brisk) 2 hours. Such a great hike and very quiet (i.e. I only saw 4 other hikes the entire route)! The drive the Bar Harbor was maybe 20 minutes and SW Harbor was about 30 min, essentially equidistant to all that you would want to do on the Island. 5+++ Stars!

Summary: This is a lovely house with everything you would want in your own home. Very comfortable in every way. Plenty of storage, very comfortable beds, beautiful decor. The location is great for access to Acadia Park Road, hiking trails, and Carriage Roads. It is always good to know you have immediate access to local help if there are any questions. We really enjoyed cooking out and lounging on the porch after a long day of hiking and biking in the Park. The location in beautiful Northeast Harbor is away from the Bar Harbor crowds, but still convenient to the Park. We will definitely book again next time we are in Maine for vacation, which will hopefully won't be too long. Thank you Cathy for a wonderful week!
