4 Bedroom Cabin in Ely

As you drive up to the cabin you immediately feel struck by the beauty of the north woods. The huge Norway Pines surround you in peace. Set on 5 acres with The State and National Forests as neighbors. This log sided cabin has a main floor with an open concept layout that includes kitchen, dining room, and living room. On the main floor you will also find a bedroom with a bunk bed. Up in the loft area there is a cozy king size bed and large windows that provide gorgeous views of the forest. In the basement you will find a full sized bed and a comfortable chair. Next to the cabin is a nicely furnished boat house with 2 queen beds. Follow a path into the woods and you will find a fun glass house complete with a full size bed and chairs (only available during summer months). You can observe woodsy animals or just relax.
Completely furnished. Linens, towels, cookware, internet, games, fire pit, patios, propane grill are all provided. Basically all you need to have fun.
Cut trails through the property and it will lead you to Pickerel Lake (around 1/4 mile away) where the fishing is great. Bring your canoe and portage there. You can also cut trails though the property and it will connect you to Mesabi trail (around 300 yards away from cabin). Mesabi is great for summer activities that include biking, hiking, walking, and inline skating. Winter activities may include fat tire biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
Bear Head State Park is 4 miles away, and provides sandy beaches to the public. Ely is 15 minutes north, and offers gift shops, restaurants, groceries and boat and canoe rentals.
The Mesabi trail goes right near the cabin that bicyclers, hikers or snowmobilers can use. The trail takes you to Ely or Tower or continue on the Grand Rapids.
If you are looking for a restful time, to get away from it all, to restore your spirit, this is your place. Both young and old will find a wonderful vacation here.
Snowmobile directly from this cabin! Ride on Bear Head State Park Rd. for a couple of miles and connect to Taconite Trail.

Summary: We were looking for a quiet place to just be for a long weekend and the Piney Cabin was absolutely perfect! It snowed the day before we arrived so when we got there it was like driving into a snow globe. The trees were beautiful and the cabin was so warm and cozy. Everything we needed for our stay was there. We went hiking the first day and saw deer and squirrels in the woods. It was absolutely breathtaking with the new fallen snow. We wouldn’t have changed a thing the whole weekend. The cabin was very clean and decorated so beautifully as a cabin up north should be. Check in and check out was simple. Thank you Laura for letting us experience life in the north woods for a weekend. It was perfect!!!

Summary: We enjoyed the stay! Close the the BWCA. The faucet water was a bit questionable, but everything else was awesome!

Summary: The cabin was beautiful, peaceful, quiet and the pine trees are beautiful too. We had a great time there. Would definitely go back there again. The only thing I would suggest is having another bathroom in the main cabin. There is an outhouse but the latrine is too high for short people lol. Also, when we first got there the place smells musty so we have to open all the windows n doors to air it out then it was fine. Overall it is a beautiful place and a great place to getaway. I also love the fact that Bear Head State park is only down the road and the hiking trails there was awesome.

Summary: I was pleasantly surprised about entire olace and how secluded it is from other homes. We did some fishing and it was just wonderful. The glass house was so fun too.

Summary: We had a blast at our stay! The cabin was a unique property that in the main cabin had a beautiful main loft with a smart TV, a small children's room with a low bunk bed and it's own smart TV, and a king sized bed with views of the woods in the top of the cabin. There is a separate "bunk" cabin that contains two other beds and a cute (if not a bit terrifying) glass bunk cabin that contains a bed and a chair to enjoy nature. A few friends tried to sleep there as a test of courage, it is not recommended if you spook easily. A few things I wanted to note was that the lake was quite a walk away and not easily accessible. We couldn't get the sauna to work, which might be a bummer in the winter. Other than those two things, our stay was wonderful! You are about 20 minutes from the next town that has grocery stores and eateries. The trails are also very beautiful! We would definitely come back if time allowed.
