With five full months dedicated to upgrades, modernization, and the introduction of new furniture and appliances, we are excited to offer you a truly rejuvenating getaway. **A Tranquil Escape in Coral Bay**
Nestled on the serene side of the island in Coral Bay, House Aceso is your haven amidst nature. Here, you'll encounter the delightful company of wild goats, sheep, and donkeys. Grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and beautiful beaches are just a short drive away, ensuring convenience during your stay.
**Your Comfortable Retreat**
House Aceso is a two-story home with external stairs connecting both levels, providing privacy and tranquility. The top floor boasts a spacious living area, dining area, well-equipped kitchen, and a full bathroom featuring a semi-open air shower. On the lower level, you'll find two cozy bedrooms (one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed), an additional full bathroom, a convenient laundry area and a workstation. Both bedrooms and the upstairs are equipped with split A/C units and offer breathtaking views through screened sliding glass doors.
**Poolside Bliss**
For ultimate relaxation, take a dip in the pool located on the lower deck, away from the main living area. You'll find new lounge chairs and Adirondack chairs on the deck, perfect for unwinding while gazing at the mesmerizing vistas. Please note that there are exactly 50 stairs from the top floor down to the pool, ensuring that the house and pool were designed to capture the best views. A new pool house will welcome you with a small refrigerator and a relaxing egg-chair to swing in.
**Modern Comforts**
Renovations were completed just before listing, ensuring modern comforts throughout. We updated all the furniture and added stunning modern tile upstairs. The kitchen is equipped with brand-new stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator, dishwasher, gas stove, and microwave. We also provide a blender, coffee maker, air fryer, Ninja cookware, and all the utensils you'll need. A gas grill is available on the front porch for your culinary adventures. For your beach outings, we supply beach towels, snorkeling gear with full face masks, beach chairs, a beach tent, and coolers of various sizes for your convenience. Additionally, we've included an Orion StarBlast 6i telescope for stargazing under the night skies.
**Your Getaway**
House Aceso offers stunning views from its elevated position above the bay. Please be aware that the drive to reach us involves a mostly unpaved 1/2 mile-long rough road, so a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for your adventure.
**Our Presence**
Your hosts live in a separate small cottage next door. While our deck connects to the house, everything is completely separate for your privacy. The only shared space is the first set of wooden stairs leading to the pool area, which we only use when accessing our cottage's supplies or laundry room on the level below our space. We own a store in Cruz Bay and are usually away from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM every day, ensuring your peace and privacy during your stay.
***To Note:
Cats: House Aceso is a feeding station for island cats. About eleven cats roam the property. Most will stay hidden or keep their distance, but a couple of them are friendly and might greet you.
We are now fully solar powered! The three Tesla batteries kick in if the power goes out (which is very common in the island) and you won’t even know! **Please note that it is possible to use all of the stored solar energy up during prolonged power outages - especially during stormy/overcast days - but this is rare.

Summary: Family of 3 traveling with a 12yo. Our first trip to the Caribbean and House Aceso provided everything we needed. We loved staying on the quiet side of the island and the views are unmatched. As advertised, 4wd is required to get up to the house. Pictures of the property are correct. Kitchen is well-appointed, best we've ever seen at a rental, including a small gas grill. We brought in our luggage some frozen meat to cook. There are 2 markets in Coral Bay to purchase other groceries at island prices. All of the beach equipment provided is incredibly helpful, including towels, chairs, coolers, and snorkel masks (fins can be rented in town). The pool now has a shade sail over it which is a nice addition. Solar is working great and we had zero issues with power outages. Sunrises were incredible and we had clear skies with no moon for awesome star-gazing every night. We loved beach hopping all over the island - North Shore beaches are easy to access from Coral Bay. Consider a boat outing from Cruz Bay for a day's adventure!Kandee was very responsive - we wouldn't hesitate to rent here again!

Summary: This villa was one of the most unique places we’ve ever rented. It’s definitely a rocky drive going up to the villa but well worth the effort. It felt very welcoming and it was very well equipped. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Not to mention the amazing view that comes with it. The pool at lower part of the villa was very well kept. Over all the villa was extremely ideal for this vacation and our family loved it. I’d definitely recommend it.

Summary: My family of 4 (2 teen girls) had the perfect stay in Coral Bay. Our 5th time on St John and prefer the quieter Coral side vs. Cruz. Such a comfortable house with spectacular views from each level. We loved the layout with different separate floors (bedrooms/main living area) as family members could get away if needed (teens). Very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed (coffee provided which is rare). We also loved all of the wildlife- goats, hummingbirds, dogs, cats and of course donkeys everywhere! Kandee was very helpful and available during our stay and before we came. Pool level (separated by steps) was perfect size, furniture comfortable and of course the views! House is very close to Coral Bay restaurants and stores. The drive to the house is pretty rough (we got lost on way up) as the listing does describe, but very bumpy in a Jeep- we grew to laugh every time driving it but definitely took some getting used to. We absolutely loved our time there.

Summary: We had an amazing time in St. John and loved the house! We traveled as a family of 4 with a 10 yr old and 12 yr old. We enjoyed the sunrise and an amazing full moon rise. The drive up is as advertised make sure to get a 4 wheel drive and be ready for a bit of adventure - it’s worth it! Hosts were extremely responsive and we loved all of the beach supplies for snorkeling, relaxing and enjoying the amazing beaches on St. John.

Summary: The views from the decks and pool are some of the best I have ever seen. The house had everything we needed to cook meals, grill, beach towels and beach chairs. Kandace was quick to respond to the questions we had and offered suggestions on grocery shopping and jeep rentals. It was a bit of an adventure getting up to the house but it was so worth it. It truly was a wonderful week spent with friends exploring the beautiful island of St. John.

Summary: Can’t beat the view. House is amazing and exactly as described. It was very helpful they provided beach towels and beach chairs. I concur the previous reviews a 4 wheel drive is needed. Communication was great. Everything was great. Highly recommend.

Summary: This was our 3rd trip to St. John, and this setting was exquisite. A beautiful home with a beautiful view. The home is large, spacious, clean and comfortable. Our hosts were available, approachable, responsive, and very, very nice. This was our 3rd different rental in 3 years, and we believe that change is a good thing…however we will definitely be staying here on our next visit. This rental not only met our expectations, it exceeded them. -Michael 2025-Our stay could not possibly have been any more enjoyable. This house was absolutely beautiful. I have "issues" with cleanliness and this property was clean even beyond my very high standards. The host was very accommodating, responsive, and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and the memory foam pillows were an unexpected bonus. It was very convenient having a washer and dryer and they both worked very well. The house was very well stocked. I love to cook and there was not a single utensil, pot, pan, or spice that I needed that was not there. The kitchen was spotless, refrigerator and cupboards clean and well organized. But it was the host that made the stay extra special. She was very quick in responding to my messages. I got sand in my phone charging port and needed to use a wireless charger, and Kandee went out of her way to find one for me.-Heather 2025-

Summary: Things we wish we would have known before booking. The owner should share all of this key info in the listing for a more-informed rental decision. -Planned power outages with last-minute awareness are common. Upon arrival at 9 PM, we learned the power would be out 10 PM-12 AM all 3 nights of our stay. Night 1 it was out 10-12:20 AM AND 2:30-4 AM. When power returned, the ceiling fan light came on automatically, awakening us. The over-door smoke detector strobe blinks every 35 seconds (timed), and the wall-mounted A/C has a large green display that illuminates the room. We were up from 4:00 AM on and expected the same issues our other 2 nights. -Google Maps is not accurate. You need turn-by-turn directions which the owner sent with check-in info day of check-in, standard. Make sure that day you are in an area with cell signal to receive it. Many beaches and roads do not have good cell signal including Coral Bay. Already out for the day, we wrongly expected driving to the area we would get cell for the check-in info. Wrong. We had to backtrack most of the island for cell signal to get the check-in details, -Don't do the drive at night the 1st time. It is an unlit, glorified trail vs a road...isolated, pitch black, narrow, overgrown, steep, curvy, deep ruts, etc. Washout from Ernesto was only disclosed in the check-in info though happened >2 weeks prior. It was a scary drive at night. Luckily, residents headed home up the hill helped us get to the house. We left after 1 night
