Oakura Bay, modern 3 bedroom beach house all facilities just 3-4 minutes walk to the beach. Elevated bay views North facing with sun all day and fabulous Oakura bay view, including Whangaruru harbour and beyond from decks, all living areas and bedrooms.
Private setting with bush Tea trees around, parking for 2-3 cars
Oakura bay is a beautiful east facing almost a kilometre long sheltered from Ocean swells by several outlying island. There’s plenty to do and explore like long beach walks, swimming, boogie boarding, kayaking.
Special conditions:
Normally minimum a week stay Sunday to Sunday but sometimes negotiable.. Long weekends are charged at peak rate. Prices are quoted for up to 6 persons, each extra is NZ$20/night.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

Summary: A great location for this classic Kiwi bach with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Oakura is remote but still fairly easy to get to, and the local shop/gas station and takeaway bar can take care of anything you might have forgotten. The property itself is basic but well equipped and quiet. The only thing that you will hear at night is the sound of the sea and the ruru (owls) in the forest.

Summary: Lovely location. The unit was clean and well equipped. Beds and some furniture need an upgrade. However, we loved our time there and had many adventures.

Summary: Newish house, 2 main bedrooms upstairs separated by hallway, stunning views and nice north-facing deck. Everything you need, great location. Aside from a beautiful beach and endless close bays and interesting places to paddle or boat to, Oakura has a good shop, petrol and a takeaway with Northland's best cream doughnuts. This house is built on a hill, so a fair few stairs / slopes involved, fine for average fitness. Good parking, quiet. Everything as listed.

Summary: This is a basic but inviting bach in a superb location with all you need for a a super relaxing stay. Bring your BBQ or gas hot plate and you'll be all set up. The friendly owner provides good info and communication. Remember to check the details re rubbish collection at local store. The WDC are strict about what they take and what bin it needs to be in. Local store is pricey so come stocked up. OK for urgent supplies though. Thanks so much Daniel!

Summary: Totally suitable for 4 adults and 2 kids although the double beds are a bit hard. Could do with spongy topper pads. Everything we needed for a layback beach holiday. Absolutely beautiful beach for young and old just 3 min walk down the hill. Daily walks swims boggy boarding with kayaks available. Bring your own BBQ if you feel the need but we did not miss it. We needed to bring a boat up the drive for one night only and it was very tricky. Not recommended unless it's a small boat max 4m tinny. Thank you Daniel for sharing your bach with us you were well organised and good communicator. We would love to come back.

Summary: Lovely little bach in a great location. Nothing fancy but with amazing views and a couple of minutes walk to the beach it was perfect for a sunny summer holiday. BYO BBQ and you're set for a lovely time.
