Welcome to Once Upon a Tide...New Smyrna Beach! A fantastic oceanfront, family-friendly beach home on the NO DRIVE BEACH. HGTV shot our home for a past season. Kid-friendly home with safety gates, crib, pack n play and high chair.
We are located 75 minutes northeast of all Orlando has to offer - Disney, SeaWorld, Universal - as well as an easy drive from Orlando International, Orlando Sanford and Daytona airports. While you are here, keep an eye out for rocket launches in Cape Canaveral.
Main Floor: Kitchen/dining/living area with a dining table to fit 8 and 4 bar stools for more seating. Kitchen, dining, and family rooms overlook the beautiful ocean and huge deck. Comfortable Pottery Barn couches & chairs in family room adjacent to a game room complete with pool table & ping pong conversion set. There is a full bathroom on this level as well as a laundry closet with full size washer & dryer. There is also a den with pull out couch and TV.
Upstairs: We have 4 large bedrooms for up to 8 adults (3 Kings, 1 Double). There are two full bathrooms on this level, both renovated in 2022. There is also a jack-n-jill style room with a twin bed on this floor.
First Floor: Two bedrooms and two full bathrooms on this level. The "Bunk-house" -a cowboy-camp themed bedroom w 3 sets of bunk beds. It has its own full bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen with private full bath. There is a “mud-room" with a second washer/dryer on this level.
Outside: We have a large deck overlooking the No-Drive Bethune Beach with colorful Adirondack chairs, layout chairs, 2 picnic tables (kid & adult sizes), and rocking chairs to enjoy your morning coffee. We also have boogie boards, sand digging toys, 2 stand up paddleboards & a sea kayak.
We love all that New Smyrna Beach has to offer and are sure that you will, too! Paddle boarding, surfing, fishing, antiquing, shopping on historic Canal St or beachfront Flagler Ave. We are a short walk to JB’s Fish Camp where you can have great seafood while enjoying beautiful views of the intracoastal waterway and frolicking manatee. There are so many incredible restaurants just a short ride up A1A - So-Napa, Spanish River, Norwood's Tree House, The Corkscrew on Canal. Bikes, boards and games, all you need for fun at the beach!
New Smyrna Beach is such a friendly little town. It is a little bit of "Old Florida" in its charm and unpretentiousness. We love it. We are sure that you will, too!

Summary: We rented Once Upon a Tide for the month of February to escape the winter doldrums of Maryland. Our daughter, son in law, and adolescent grandchildren joined us for a week and they loved collecting shells, using the pool table, and reading on the expansive deck. They were even able to witness a rocket launch, which was an added bonus! This home exceeded our expectations in every way. We have never stayed in a property so close to the beach and we so enjoyed drinking our coffee, relaxing, and socializing right at the water’s edge. The home is very well appointed and it is apparent that the owners take pride in anticipating every possible detail to make the renters’ stay very comfortable. Communication was seamless with the hosts and they provided recommendations inside the home for sightseeing, restaurants, and family activities. We certainly hope to return next year to Once Upon a Tide. If you decide to rent this property, you will not be disappointed!

Summary: When I was looking to book a place for a short stay, something special to accommodate myself, husband, and 2 daughters with their families, I saw Once Upon a Tide online and never looked back! The huge deck caught my eye immediately, and it is even larger 'in person'! There is abundant seating on the deck for large groups, and the colorful Adirondack chairs were my personal faves. The wall of windows facing the beach provides captivating ocean vistas, so even if you're inside, you don't loose out on that wild beauty. We had 6 adults and 6 kids ranging from ages14 to 2. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for the teenager, and the younger kids loved the bunkhouse. Bonus...all their toys stayed downstairs, out of sight from the main area. You walk up a flight of stairs to get to the main living area, which consists of a beautifully equipped kitchen, large dining table, comfortable living room and then the pool table with ping pong option it's own separate space. This area was a favorite of the guys in the group! The kids also liked the little TV room off the kitchen and enjoyed all the games and movies this room had to offer. The home is bountifully supplied with paper goods, beach towels, as well as other household linens and all the appliances you could need. The kitchen is well equipped, and you'll even find some basic seasonings and spices in the kitchen pantry. The master bedroom/bath is spectacular and the rest of the rooms are airy and spacious, with the cutest little 'baby bunk' area for the 2 year old. So many rooms, we had to remember which door was ours! Just beware, there are quite a few stairs to navigate in case anyone has knee issues. I did not realize that when booking and my hubby is a bit knee challenged. Once you are in the main level however, there is a bathroom and the little side room, so you wouldn't have to go up and down the two levels of stairs. We all really enjoyed our stay, and all the nooks and crannies we could hang out in. Thanks again for your hospitality!

Summary: If you are looking for a phenomenal family beach house vacation look no further and stay at Once Upon A Tide! The house and property are beautifully maintained. Lots of room for the kids to play. All the beach sand toys you need, not to mention bikes, kayak, paddle boards, umbrellas, beach chairs and boogie boards. The house is fully stocked with bath and beach towels everything you need for a wonderful beach vacation. Make sure you get up early for the magnificent sunrise views! Summary: We stayed at this house for my wife’s 40th birthday celebration. We had 8 adults and 6 children, which that was plenty of room and activities to keep everyone busy. The deck is massive and provides a great place to relax, entertain, and most importantly watch the kids from just a few steps down to the beach. Ron was available and responsive, while ensuring we had everything we needed to make our trip the very best. Definitely recommend and 5/5 stars!!!
