4 Bedroom House in Gordon Head, Victoria

Enjoy the wonderful ocean views of the Haro Straight and the American San Juan Islands. Whales can be viewed just off the coast from the house! Our house is in a quiet cul-de-sac in an area called Gordon Head, and is about 3km from the University of Victoria. Downtown Victoria is a 15 min drive away. Enjoy the hot tub in the beautiful back yard, which includes a lovely pond, deck, pergola, fruit trees, grape vines, vegetable and flower gardens. The house is a modern 3200 sq ft house, with four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms. Take in the beautiful ocean views from the front deck off the kitchen, or relax on the private back deck while listening to the tranquil sounds of the pond.

In addition to the two upstairs and two downstairs bedrooms, there is a comfy queen sized Ikea Click-Clack bed in the rec room downstairs.
Victoria is one of the most scenic visitor destinations in all of Canada. It is known as the City of Gardens and hosts the world famous Butchart Gardens. Southern Vancouver Island provides some of the finest outdoor recreation opportunities in the country including whale watching, golfing, hiking, cycling, fishing, sailing and kayaking. Downtown Victoria has a wide variety of visitor attractions which include the British Columbia Parliament Buildings, BC Museum, Empress Hotel, Beacon Hill Park, Bastion Square, China town and the Dallas Rd waterfront. Victoria was ranked the 2nd best small city in the world by Conde Naste magazine in 2017 and the 7th best overall!
Vancouver is a 90 minute ferry ride from Victoria. Whistler resort is 2 hours from Vancouver. You can take a passenger ferry from downtown Victoria to downtown Seattle, USA. and a car ferry from Downtown Victoria to Port Angeles USA.

Summary: Perfect location. The view from front windows is incredible. Could have stayed there for hours just looking out. The home is in a nice quiet neighborhood and it’s a quick walk down to the water. The home was clean and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Betty and Chris were lovely hosts, checked in to make sure things were going well. Their yard is immaculate too! If you are considering staying here you should! We are sure glad we did!

Summary: Beautiful home, packed with comfortable furnishings and lovely art. One block walk to walking along the water, ships can be seen from the front deck, gorgeous backyard is perfect for hot tub soaks or reading a book under the pergola next to a lovely small pond. Location made it easy for us to visit Chinatown, Empress Hotel, Fisherman’s Wharf, Butchart Gardens, and other local sites.

Summary: We loved our time at Betty and Chris's home. The view of the ocean was stunning and we walked the 5 minutes to the beach any chance we had! The kitchen was well equipped for our large group. The beds and bedding were comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious. We enjoyed the 2 decks which provided opportunity to catch the sun in the morning and afternoon. We would definitely stay again!

Summary: We were very pleased with the accommodation. Location was in a quiet neighbourhood with a view to the ocean and central to many of the Island attractions. On the downside we were unable to reach the owners on two occasions by email.

Summary: We were delighted with the home. It felt like home from home. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen and living are were great. We cooked most meals in the house as the family had allergies. Having all the condiments in the kitchen was great. I would highly recommend this lovely home. Olive.

Summary: Betty and Chris’s place is beautiful. We enjoyed the Ocean view from the kitchen, dinning area and outdoor deck in the morning and continued to soak in the sun in the evening from the backyard in the very well kept garden and pond. It was home away from home with all the amenities. The Glencoe Cove is a 10 min walk away to access the ocean for a stroll. Chris and Betty has a great book collection so no need to pack your own which I very much enjoyed with our amazing welcome bottle of wine.

Summary: Amazing! is just a small way to describe this place, the location was perfect. We enjoyed the mornings looking at the ocean, wildlife walking around the front porch! Great way to start your day and enjoy a cup of coffee. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, very well equipped. Plenty of space for our group, we stayed for 5 days and where able to drive around the whole island. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this location, the host was always responsive to our needs.

Summary: Lovely spacious and well equipped property in a beautiful and peaceful area. Lots of wildlife with Hummingbirds and deer to watch from the house. Easy access to get out and about to visit the sights around Victoria. Some of the gadgets (kettle & front door locking mechanism in particular) took a bit of getting used to especially after a long flight. We managed everything after a few false starts but some additional instructions would be great to make it that little bit easier. We found the heating system a little on the noisy side but then again it’s very different to what we’re used to at home! All in all we had a lovely stay visiting family and exploring Victoria. Thank you
