We look forward to welcoming you and your family (including dogs) to Bird’s Eye View, our 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house, on pilings with beautiful marsh and ocean views from 3 decks and easy beach access. This 3rd-row vacation home is located on the quiet West side of Oak Island with gorgeous views of both the ocean and salt marsh. The home includes a spacious two-story family room filled with natural light and plenty of seating for everyone to relax after a day in the sun.
This home is managed by the owners, rather than a property management company, so you'll receive personal attention to answer your questions or address any issues. Check out the reviews, all of which are 5-star! We're also happy to provide tips on restaurants and things to do in the area.
You’ll enjoy cooking in the well-equipped large kitchen complete with dining area or on a propane grill looking out over the marsh on the back deck. No matter where you are inside or out you will have the ability to slip away and enjoy a picturesque and peaceful lookout.
The bedrooms are carefully spread around the house. The primary bedroom (Queen) is tucked away on the main floor, offering privacy and includes a new (2023) ensuite bathroom and large closet and window seat. A bunkroom is located on the same floor with a powder room nearby. The upstairs guest rooms share a new bathroom, with a luxurious soaking tub (and shower) located off the hallway. The King bedroom has a private Oceanview sitting room and flat screen tv. The Queen guestroom has access to the private rooftop deck overlooking the marsh with comfortable Adirondack chairs for your morning coffee or to watch beautiful sunsets. Hidden behind a barn door on the main floor is a comfortable den and desk/monitor setup overlooking the back deck and marsh, perfect for both quiet remote work or as a kids retreat, reading or just relaxing.
After you’ve enjoyed the sun and surf at the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower with hot and cold water and then relax on the front deck with views of the ocean or back deck with views of the marsh. Parking under the house and on large driveway is available for full family and guest use. No need to deal with OKI's parking restrictions. (Please do not park electric vehicles under the house.)
We've invested in High-Speed internet for our guests. The four TVs are "smart" or include Roku or Firesticks so you can log in to your favorite streaming programs with YOUR log-in credentials for Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video, Hulu, Paramount+, DIRECTV Stream, YouTube TV, Spectrum Streaming, Max, etc etc. or even your Gaming systems.
But most of the time you'll be outdoors! Included for family fun are outside / beach accessories, such as beach chairs, an umbrella, corn hole boards, firepit, etc. A ping pong table is setup in the garage for team play! There are also a couple of bikes for your use.
The home sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms (including a bunkroom with a twin over full bunkbed plus twin trundle). Linens and towels are not provided, so you may either bring your own or contact Beach Stuff Linen Rental (www.rudd.com/beach-stuff-linen-rental). They can be reached at 910-523-0971 (in peak season they can sell out).
Well-behaved, housebroken, dogs (up to 2) are welcome. Please specify when reserving. Pet (dogs only) fees apply: $25 per pet, per night. Please specify the number of pets in your booking request.

Summary: Terry’s place is one of the better beach houses we have ever stayed in. We’ve been renting beach houses for close to 40 years. This one is a gem! It’s nearly private with the marsh behind, an empty lot and then woods to one side, and a residential house on the other. 2 easy blocks to a handicapped beach access which has no stairs and includes a rubber mat to the beach. Luxury! We usually rent a golf cart but didn’t need one here. The house is excellently equipped with all you need to cook and relax. The house is sturdy and doesn’t shake or sound like an empty barrel when using the stairs. The beds were comfortable. The outside shower is roomy and neat. Multiple outside areas to hang out. Terry checked in with us and was quick to answer when we had questions about the area. It was clean even in the basement. 10/10 would recommend and would love to stay again.

Summary: This house was beautiful and was a quick walk to the beach! The owners communicated with me throughout my stay to make sure everything was ok and asked if we had any questions, which was very thoughtful. The only thing that I highly suggest is that you take pictures of everything, including carpets upon arrival. But overall I would highly recommend this place, we had a great vacation!

Summary: We have traveled to Oak Island each summer for the last 10 years and have stayed in a lot of houses. This has been THE cleanest house thus far. It’s rare that I walk around in bare feet but, you totally could in this house. It has easy, walkable beach access which is great now that Oak Island has ‘pay to park’ at all the beach lots. The owner, Terry is very quick to respond to any questions. We’ll definitely be back!

Summary: This vacation home is beautiful inside and out. The house has quite a unique orientation which allows for great views of the ocean and the salt marsh as well good natural lighting. Very easy short walk to the beach. The views of the salt marsh from the windows surrounding the living area are amazing…they almost look like paintings that are constantly changing throughout the day. We hope to be back soon!

Summary: We loved our annual spring break trip with our cousins this year at oak island. This house has amazing views and multiple areas for the kids and adults to spend time catching.
