Beautiful oceanfront home is centrally located on the South Shore, 30 minutes from Halifax, Chester and Mahone Bay. Location, location, location....you can not get a better location in Hubbard's.
Home is complete with fully equipped kitchen, 2 bbq’s (Weber charcoal included bbq and a propane grill bbq), high thread count linens/bedding, washer/dryer, stereo, CD player and lots of games in the play area. Free high speed wireless internet.
Home is located right in the heart of the Hubbards community. Hubbards was home to many scenes in the Stephen King supernatural drama TV show, HAVEN, filmed on Nova Scotia's south shore as well as the hit CBC TV series Moonshine.
Full sun all day to enjoy a coffee/tea in your Adirondack chairs to start your day or a cocktail/wine to end your day. Watch one of those stunning summer sunsets, 20 seconds from your porch.
10 minute WALK to the Trellis Cafe, Atlantic Superstore, Home Hardware, Pharmacy, Scotiabank Bank machine, Liquor Store, Farmers Market (Rated as one of Canada's TOP 10 Farmers Market by CHATELAINE Magazine as well as many other publications), Public Library and The Aspotagan hiking/walking/biking trail. No need to rent bikes as we have bikes available.
Enjoy our shoreline and beach overlooking St. Margaret's Bay in Hubbards Cove. Swim out to the dock complete with a ladder. Perfect for sunbathing, jumping off or just relaxing. See photos. We have a canoe, 2 -150 max pound kayaks, 1 adult kayak and a aluminum boat (no motor) available for use. Life jackets with whistles and paddles all included. Limited snorkeling gear and lots of beach toys and rubber floaties.
Hang out by the campfire (small fee for wood) and enjoy s’mores and beverages.
Enjoy fresh Atlantic Seafood at Tuna Blue or a down easter lobster supper at the Shore Club (5 minutes). Go to the Shore Club on Saturday night. It becomes one of the last great Dance Club's with live entertainment till 2:00 AM. Best Cheeseburgers on the planet. The Shore Club has been going strong every Saturday night since 1946.
BEACH? This cottage is close to 2 gorgeous beaches, Hubbard’s Beach and Queensland. Bayswater beach is a 40 minute drive.
Golf-1 family friendly 9 hole course (Aspotagan Ridge) 10 minutes away. 1 awesome 18 hole seaside course located in Chester Nova Scotia only 15 minutes away. Another dozen courses all with in 40 minutes drive.
FISHING? Take your pick: Mackerel right off our shoreline, river and lake fishing for Trout, Bass, and Pickerel, or go out on the ocean for Shark, Blue Fin Tuna, ground fish like Cod via a charter.
Sightseeing, world famous PEGGYS COVE, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE Town Lunenburg, home of the famous fishing schooner BLUENOSE, it's on the Cdn. Dime Mahone Bay, Chester, google them all, they are all with in 40 minutes or less of your cottage. Halifax, the capital city of Nova Scotia is less than a half hour away. Museums, restaurants, national parks, more beaches, pubs, live music in a great music scene city, etc. etc is all right there. Summary: Fantastic house for a family. Well equipped kitchen. Easy travel to towns along the south shore. Restaurants right in Hubbards have a good variety of yummy foods. Brad was very responsive to all my questions. Highly recommended!

Summary: The house was very comfortable and well-appointed. The location is great - close to many excellent destinations, but also right on the water and walking distance to restaurants in Hubbards. Brad was a very responsive host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would be happy to return.

Summary: I spent the last two weeks of July here with my three children ages 11, 8 and 6, my husband and our small dog. We arrived two weeks ago (fully vaccd) from Toronto. I am hesitant to encourage others to book this house as I’d like nothing more than to have it all to myself. If you love the ocean and being on the water... ***if not I have a great house for you IN ONTARIO.*** I don’t work for Brad, but if I did I would tell you I woke up each morning and looked out to the peaceful calm of the cove and beyond without even lifting my head from the pillow. I watched my kids sailing at the hubbards sailing club everyday from the lawn. I fell asleep night after night to the sound of the waves at the shore. From the small beach on the property you can swim out to the dock, paddle around in boats provided or chill out and enjoy the view. There is a lovely lawn down to the beach and an equally superb deck with a large dining table and umbrella out the back door. All of this makes is so easy to soak in the view and never leave the property. The house itself is full of authentic east coast touches, clean, and well organized. Our family of five was very comfortable. There are so many beautiful beaches to enjoy I’m driving away with enough sand in my car for my very own. The house is conveniently located about five minutes or less from basically anything you could need - groceries, pharmacy, coffee, library, nslc, sailing club, hiking trails, beaches etc. We easily travelled to Halifax for lunch and shopping trips, peggys cove for sight seeing and tuna blue (2min) for dinners. The hubbards farmers market on Saturday mornings is primo- don’t sleep on it. I could go on and on but if you’ve read this far just book it. Brad is an A+ host, you won’t be disappointed.
