Positive: Friendly, helpful staff; close to plenty of restaurants, shops, the bus station, and center of town; wifi worked well in my room; they upgraded me to a room with a kitchen at no extra charge; air conditioning was okay
Negative: The neighbour was playing music loudly for quite a long time just outside my window while I was there; the building is located up a very steep hill so if you are coming from the center it's quite a hard walk uphill especially if you have bags; it was clean but a bit rough around the edges; the room and bathroom felt a bit cramped (the shower however is quite large)

Positive: The ocean view apartment was medium size & clean enough. Basic essentials provided. Good lighting. Goog hot water shower. Only 1 bath towel provided. They booked a taxi for me which was appreciated. Unfortunately the taxi was a no show. Not the owner's fault.
Negative: Located up a very steep hill. No flexibility re check in. Check in prior to 3pm costs $40US. No luggage storage. I specifically advised I would check in at 3pm. Waited outside but no one came to meet me. Fortunately, another guest let me in & I had to ask an onsite workman to contact the owner.

Positive: Amazing place. Much more authentic and way better value than staying in Grand Anse. Room was clean and well equipped with AC, very workable kitchen (could use a dish rack), modern and new, absolutely amazing view from upper floors looking out over the Carribean Sea at sunset. Hosts Kristi and Kirby were very kind and helpful bringing me fresh towels and bathsoap and the area was very convenient. Bus terminal to places all over island (including Grand Anse) was a 2 minute walk away and there were plenty of places to get food (recommend the little burger/wraps stand just down the hll on the right and the Jamaican jerk grlll past the fish market), groceries, beer, cigarettes and all other needs. Recommend getting a room facing out over the ocean on second or third floor as the sunsets were unbelievable. Accessible to many sights and a beautiful 3 mile walk to Grand Anse if needed. Excellent value as a fully equipped (pots, pans, dishes, utensils, fridge, gas stove) studio apartment was less than $80USD a night, whereas places in Grand Anse were all at least $250USD a night and very touristy and inauthentic over there. This place was much more authentic - very few tourists.
Negative: It was all good.
Summary: Awesome place to stay for a week. Way more authentic than Grand Anse.
