The lodge itself is beautifully designed, blending elegance with a deep respect for the surrounding natural environment. Our accommodations were tastefully appointed, and the beds offered a level of comfort on par with top-tier hotels. The culinary experience was another highlight – each meal was a delight, comparable to fine dining in a high-end restaurant, both in presentation and flavor. What truly sets Olaloi apart, however, is its location. Nestled in the heart of nature, the lodge offers a rare opportunity to connect with wildlife in its natural habitat – a breathtaking and humbling experience. Without question, this was the best accommodation we stayed at during our time in Kenya. We’re already looking forward to our return.

Positive: The location is unbeatable! We were barely 5 minutes outside the gate to the reserve and it was extremely convenient. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive and they really made us feel like family. Wilson, Milton, Benjamin, Jon and Tannin were all completely wonderful. Our room was beautiful and very spacious and Tannin our security guide was very attentive and a great escort for breakfasts and dinner. The food was so good and each meal was 3 courses, we felt so spoiled. John even packed us lunches for the days we had game drives and they were so delicious as well. Lastly, we were able to visit a local Maasai village and had a lovely tour of their way of life, homes, handicrafts etc. Lastly, one thing I really appreciated was that when we arrived they also had a warm towel and welcome drink for our driver. I found that very thoughtful and really appreciated that they included him.

Negative: The only thing I could suggest is having 1 female on staff there. I was with my husband, but I imagine if I was a solo female traveler and traveling with another woman, it would have been nice to have a woman there on staff. This is not a negative but just a suggestion!

Negative: The food was overseasoned for me. But the chef recooked another dish immediately when I reflected.

Positive: The Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Delicious food, very clean rooms. They organised an extraodinary game drive for us, with an very experienced and super nice guide, we saw so many different animals, which we had never expected. Additionall, we warmly can recommend the driver, the organised to get us to nairobi. Safe driver, good car and knows a lot about the country. I really can highly recommend olaloi Mara Camp!!!!!

The entire team made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. Wilson, our host, was exceptionally cordial and ensured everything ran smoothly throughout our stay. Our guide, Jonathan, was fantastic—his knowledge of the reserve and passion for wildlife made our game drives truly special. We had the privilege of seeing a wide variety of animals, thanks to his expertise. The food was another highlight! John, the chef, prepared scrumptious meals three times a day, offering a fine dining experience in the heart of the Mara. Every meal was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Benjamin and Helen were also outstanding hosts, keeping us company and providing great conversation throughout our stay. We felt like we were part of the family. The security guard (whose name unfortunately slips my mind) was very diligent and courteous, ensuring that we felt safe and at ease. One of the things we truly appreciated was the flexibility and attention to detail. The team catered to every request with ease, making our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were splendid, offering comfort and style amidst the wild surroundings. It’s definitely worth every penny, and we would not hesitate to return.
