Summary: The room was big and spacious but the place is as its name old and could with a bit of work but for the price and the staff were lovely. We had a lovely stay and would go back.

Summary: Staff were very friendly and location is brilliant for exploring Buxton. Hotel is a little creaky and wonky, but this is to be expected for one of the oldest hotels in the country! Breakfast was good and we were sat in the bar as we had a dog with us. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Buxton!

Summary: Excellent breakfast, quite room , and so close to the theatre , great hotel , would definitely use this again , oh and parking straight outside £6 for 24hr

Summary: The hotel feels very in need of renovation. It's not old as in a historic place, it's old as in rundown and scruffy. It looks like a sense of pride has been lost and even the cleaning is neglected. The bathroom was dirty, the mattress was old, unsupportive and uncomfortable. While most of the staff were great, they seemed overstretched. Reception was unattended with a 'back soon' sign every time. The lift didn't work. There was virtually nothing available for breakfast despite them knowing about dietary requirements for months in advance and them even making a courtesy call a week in advance to check. Overall, a highly disappointing stay, not worth the money, and I definitely won't stay there again.

Summary: The hotel is very old and in some respects needs redecoration however we enjoyed a really good stay. The location is excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. We both slept very well and breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again

Summary: Brilliant location. The Deputy Manager was very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was self serve and was delicious and plentiful. Parking outside the hotel is avaliable for 4 hours max during certain times (pay at meter), however you can purchase a 24 hour permit from Reception for £6. We'd definitely stay again. (pay at meter)
