Experience breathtaking views and unforgettable sunsets in this comfortable cottage retreat. Located in a quiet private neighborhood, on a secluded rocky hillside above the west shore of Orcas Island. Relax on the west facing deck and marvel at unobstructed views of the San Juan archipelago and Vancouver Island. Relax, and set your watch to island time. This is the ideal quiet place to get away for a while.
The space
Orcas Sunset Cottage has full kitchen outfitted for all your basic cooking and dining needs, including full size electric stove and oven, large fridge, microwave, toaster, 12 cup drip coffee maker, Kuerig, french press, coffee grinder & blender. (Due to Covid safety guidelines we are not offering additional communal pantry supplies such as cooking oils, flour, sugar at this time.)
A spacious and comfortable living room with great views of the water, two comfortable leather recliners, a sofa bed, wood burning stove (firewood is provided) TV with DirecTV satellite service and fast fiber internet service included as well as an Amazon Alexa. The cottage also is outfitted with a telephone landline.
The deck features comfortable dining table and chairs to seat 6, umbrella, chaise lounge (seasonal) and stunning panoramic views.
Charcoal BBQ with supplies also provided.
The primary bedroom has views of the water, queen size bed and large dresser.
The second bedroom has two twin beds and small dresser, large closet.
Windows are outfitted with wooden blinds and are predominately west facing providing beautiful afternoon/evening light.
The bathroom has a spacious shower, with full sink/vanity and hair dryer and basic bathrooms supplies including soap, shampoo & conditioner. There is a front loading washer and dryer, laundry soap, iron and ironing board to suit your laundering needs.
The property is in a quiet neighborhood, nestled in a rocky forest hillside with sweeping western panoramic views of the water and surrounding islands.

Summary: We stayed at the property for almost a week and enjoyed every moment. All the necessities to make it comfortable amongst the secluded woods of the neighborhood. Would stay again.

Summary: The home was AMAZING. Had everything we needed for a week long stay with two kids (ages 9 & 11). The location was perfect for us and the host was instantly available when we had questions about the area. The location super quiet and easy to get to hiking & boating. We saw amazing wildlife and the sunsets were indescribable.

Summary: The pictures do not do these views justice, they are breathtaking. The house is also very tidy and well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!

Summary: This is a beautiful cottage, with stunning views of the Salish Sea. We loved waking up every morning to the view, and wish we'd been able to take advantage of the outdoor deck, but, alas, it was raining. (Tis the season.) It was immaculately clean, quiet, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We like to cook for ourselves, so we appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, the spices and cooking oil. The wood stove warmed up the whole place nicely on the chilly evenings!

Summary: We couldn't have loved our stay more. The space was comfortable, nicer than it appears in the pictures, and the view is so beautiful it defies description. We found everything we needed and thought thought it was a perfect home base from which to explore Orcas, a stone's throw from turtleback preserve and an easy drive into Eastsound. Thank you SO much for sharing your beautiful place with us, our visit was really special.

Summary: One of the most amazing sunset views in the entire country from the deck of this very place. Little things are big things, and the host has thought of everything. Check in and pre visit instructions super clear and detailed, plenty of cookware and spices to get things started, grill and all necessary equipment required right there and easily accessible, comfortable beds, detergent for the W/D, the list goes on. Thanks for an epic stay - night sky pic with Venus low on the horizon is one of the most gorgeous I’ve taken. Will most definitely come back. Thank you for the hospitality!

Summary: As soon as you walk in and see that view all your stress seems to disappear. Krystle was an amazing host and addressed the few issues we had very quickly. Even though it was the hottest days Orcas Island has ever seen and there was a power outage on the island for about 5 hours, we still had the best time sitting out on that deck and watching the most amazing sunset ever! Can’t wait to return.
