Positive: Location is gorgeous

Negative: The access path is a long way on a gravel road but this is well informed in advance and wasn’t a surprise nevertheless, on a daily basis, you loose more less 1 hour highly focused on the drive 😉 but kids enjoyed looking for widelife when coming back at dark

Summary: If you want a cosy place in the middle of the mountain that’s the place to go

Positive: Pictures do not do justice- this cottage is set in a fantastic area. So quiet and peaceful, very back to nature. We had an awesome time. The cottage is basic, with a gas stove and oven, a refrigerator the size of a larger hotel minibar with a tiny freezer also powered by gas. The cottage is powered by solar panels which worked for us. The hosts supplied us with charcoal to use for the outside grill. Yes the trip up the mountain is 25-30 min. Of gravel road through the forest, but it was so worth it. We and our young adults tried 4 days without wifi at hand, which did us all good. And going down to shop with internet connection at hand, was suddenly a popular event. We visited Bled and the area around a few times, went zip lining (awesome) and swimming. Once you get down the mountain it is all in close distance. Around the cottage you have great hikes. Our stay at Oto’s was fantastic, new experiences with going back to basics and still have the most essential. We’ve made great memories - Thank you Tina and family

Negative: A bigger fridge or alternative cooling possibilities could have been nice for a family of 6, but we managed.

Positive: If you like unspoiled nature, silence and privacy, this is the place to be. Oto's Cabin is a pleasant, simple & nicely decorated chalet with a furnished garden & bbq with a fantastic view of the open plain ('planina'). The quality of the beds was very good, and the chalet was impeccably clean. Tina and her family provide a very good welcome, including a well-stocked refrigerator, various drinks, charcoal, cookies, ... which you can take use of through an honesty box. Near the chalet is a nice family restaurant, ideal for the first or last evening. Many locals and mountain bikers drive up the hill especially for this! And there are wonderful walks to be made from Oto's Cabin, for example to the nearby Planina Ribenska.

Negative: However, if you like comfort and luxury, then this is not the right place for you. You reach the chalet after 15 minutes off road driving (the road is of good quality and you can get there with any type of car) and the chalet is self-sustained (e.g. electricity via solar panels and if necessary a generator). Everything back to basics! There is no wifi and hardly any 4g (if you walk 100m or use the good wifi of the nearby restaurant you can however access the net). Ideal to completely deconnect! Our kids read their book out of sheer misery LOL!

Summary: A nicely decorated chalet with basic comfort, but with a fantastic view - ideal to deconnect!
