Positive: I stayed in the one-bedroom house during 5 nights and the stay was amazing. Very confortable bed and very silent during the night. I was there to enjoy nature and take landscape photos, something the friendly owner really helped out with by providing me a LONG list of places worth visiting. The list really kept me busy. The owner has two very friendly and cuddly dogs that I loved. The arrangement with offering breakfast in a close-by café was perfect as the breakfast there was amazing and the owner of the café was super friendly as well. I really know I will visit this place again as I felt really at home here! I am super thankful to the owner for speaking Portuguese with me, even if I speak more or less like Tarzan!

Negative: The thing I didn't like is not part of this establishment. It is also outside the control of the owner, but I still think it must be mentioned. Living in Sweden, I am very used to having a national law that allows every single person to fully access nature, due to the healing power of nature. Unfortunately such law does not exist in Portugal, and even if the landscapes look purely amazing from the roads, 99% of all the fields and forests are unavailable to the public by the means of extremely high fences with barbwire. Seeing something like that made me a bit sad, as I feel we humans should not disconnect ourselves from nature in this manner. Once more, this had nothing to do with this particular place, but it's an observation about the area which I think is worth knowing. It helps with the planing.

Positive: Peaceful village location convenient for visiting the ancient sites of Cromoleque dos Almendres and Anta Grande do Zambujeiro. Benedita welcomed us to the property and introduced us to the facilities. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Negative: The open plan kitchen / lounge didn't feel very cosy and we would have welcomed a couple of wine glasses.

Positive: Amazing property with great history. Loved the reception of the owner and the property itself has everything you can imagine. Everything you have at home you have there. One simple thing is each person had their own set of towels (2 small, 1 big, for example) and this is something that has been reduced in other properties. So great job! :)

Positive: It was a long hot motorcycle ride & it was fantastic to be able to have a dip in the pool. We stayed the night of the England game during the group stage & watched it in the local bar. We had breakfast in the local café, not the best but it was adequate. The hosts were amazing, very friendly & hospitable. Couldn’t fault the establishment, would definitely stay there again.

Positive: Very friendly host. Spacious room; in fact an entire appartment. The entire facility incl. the bathroom is wheelchair-accessible (not that we needed it, but it’s good to see that it was taken care of). Nice surroundings.

Negative: I’m not sure what qualifies this place as a four-star facility. It’s all good and well, but it’s just a holiday home in the country side, nothing special about it. And for that, it was a bit pricy. The breakfast in particular was subpar. It’s a cute idea to let people have breakfast in a nearby café, but if the owner doesn’t speak a word of English and brings random food; most of which is not really what we would have liked, it’s not exactly the experience (in terms of choice and quality) of a four-star hotel. Suggestion to the hosts: Let people choose from a list of breakfast options the evening before and have that served (like you would in a real hotel e.g. if you have breakfast in the room). This would create less confusion, and less waste of food served but not eaten at the café. Suggestion to travelers: Book without breakfast and bring your own or go to Evora.
