Positive: The architecture of room that is like the batak traditional house. Comfortable even though there is no fan or air conditional. The family room is spacious. The resort has nice landscape garden. There is a vegetable farm beside the accommodation. Have nice view of Gunung Sinabung. Although breakfast is not included, it's cafe also serves delicious western food. Like the quiet yet calming of the atmosphere of the hotel. Highly recommended!
Negative: Low water pressure and no wifi

Positive: Para para is set among farmland, a 30 minute walk out of Berastagi town. The restaurant and family room are designed in traditional Karo style and beautifully constructed. The restaurant was open from 11am to 9pm and serves a small range of well prepared and tasty dishes. The staff are very friendly and use google translate to communicate in English.
Negative: Breakfast was included, and consisted of a rather stale half bread roll with chocolate sauce and cheese, and sweet black tea. Unfortunately, there are no other options for food or beverages until 11am. The shower pressure is very weak, but there was hot water. You will need to organise any travel or day trips elsewhere as they don't provide this service. Furthermore, the location is difficult to access other than via a private car - there are no taxis or Grab services here! On the plus side, it's quiet and the scenery is beautiful.
