Summary: Hotel with a lot of history and character. Nice large rooms, beautiful grounds and common spaces. Hiking trails right outside the door, a short walk to the village. We would stay here again

Summary: Had a nice two night stay, everything went well, staff good, especially the very helpful lady on reception. The area is a bit of a quiet gem, with loads of quiet roads to explore and a quaint village in walking distance. The nearby Laredo was good too, and just a short drive. Highly recommended.

Summary: Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Room was more like a suite! We stayed half board which we would recommend as there are not many other places to eat in the area. The food was delicious so glad we booked half board. We visited Santoña (anchovy capital of the world ) and Laredo, both close by, which were well worth the visit. Lovely, unspoilt area of northern Spain.

Summary: Reception staff very good. Bar lady lovely and very busy with other tasks. Waiting on and dining was poor. Wrong food, some not cooked (cold in the middle chicken) tasted ‘off’ 2 chaps waiting on didn’t appear to want to serve us. Nice young lady came along and agreed the chicken wasn’t cooked. We were asked about the food - I said awful Rooms very noisy and you could hear from other rooms

Summary: Great hotel in historical building and dominating location. Really nice reception staff and bar and restaurant staff were even better. As residents we were able to access some of the restricted spaces
