Peace and quiet. Solitude on the St. Francis is a lovely log cabin set in the woods. It is approximately ten miles north of Sam A. Baker State Park in an isolated area. The cabin sits on 260 acres that border the St. Francis River. The St. Francis is easily accessible (a quick two minute walk from the cabin) and is an excellent fishing, swimming and floating river. This log cabin has a master bedroom with a queen size bed, a loft with a full size mattress and a downstairs semi-private bedroom with a full size log bed. Solitude is all electric. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, stove-top burners, crock pot, drip coffee maker, toaster, pots & pans, dishes and utensils. There is one bathroom and a walk-in shower. Solitude is equipped with central heat and air a land line telephone and satelite TV with dvd. The very cold Seabaugh Spring sits in front of the cabin and flows into a small pond and creek that leads into the St. Francis. Bring your inner tubes and swim gear and spend the day at the river. There is also a BBQ grill in front of the cabin and a fire pit for bonfires. There are two miles of hiking trails and a two acre fishing pond on the property. If you are looking for a getaway from civilization, this is the place.

Summary: Our family spent the weekend and absolutely loved it! The cabin and the property was amazing. None of us were ready to leaving. We will definitely stay again and longer!

Summary: We had such an amazing stay at this beautiful property which is so aptly named "Solitude" since that is precisely what it delivers. Literally were planning our next stay even before we left. Property is as described. Kids had a blast splashing in the creek and the river access is GREAT! Definitely recommend. Only issue we had with communication is that there's no cell phone signal to speak of at the property (and this too was as described) which was only a problem one time when we really needed to contact someone. Otherwise it was so refreshing to get the kids to disconnect from their devices and enjoy nature. We couldn't get the satellite TV to work but that was a minor issue at best and could have been our fault. We did enjoy the board games available. Can't wait to return.

Summary: Overall the cabin getaway was nice . The host well There should be much more description about property. It would have been nice to had a sheet with information to follow how to work Satellite TV ( not sure it existed) it said there was a landline phone (there was not) I’m glad we didn’t have any emergencies because you have no way of contacting anyone!!! Most places also give important information about nearest hospital, gas stations and the check out policy ( what to do with garbage, where to leave linens, towels etc. There is a second pond somewhere but never found it I did look several times but weeds were tall and I couldn’t find the trail that lead to it. Access to the river and the canoe was nice. Overall good vacation just not a lot of information. This was our first time using VRBO so maybe just my ignorance. Make sure you are in a truck or at least 4 wheel to get back there.

Summary: We had the most wonderful 3 day stay at the cabin. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked with essentials. We swam, took the canoes out, walked the trails and did so much fishing. It was a perfect family get away from our busy lives and we can’t wait to go back.

Summary: I think this was our fourth stay at this cabin, because we love it so much. Always perfect. The new deck is great too; just like the old one but better. Thanks for letting us visit. Our dogs are going to need a few days to recover from all their fun times too!

Summary: This is the 2nd stay for us at this property so we new exactly what to expect. This time we took all the food and drink we needed. We parked next to the cabin and never left the spot except for the 1/4 mile drive to the river. This is the way people are supposed to relax. The place is medicine for the body, mind, heart and soul. We had fires in the fire ring, watched the stars at night and enjoyed floating and fishing in the river every day. Hated to leave at the end of the week. Almost forgot how to get to work the next week.

Summary: Beautiful setting, maybe a little difficult to access (don’t drive a car with low clearance), and a little confusing to find if you’re not from the area. However, well worth the trip. Solitude is the best word for this place, and a nice stay!

Summary: The cabin is absolutely beautifully situated - deep in the forest, overlooking a pond and a spring, not far from the river and a bigger pond. There are no sounds from civilization and, apart from the cabin, no signs of civilization. Sitting on the deck in the morning, overlooking the pond, listing to birds, frogs, toads and insects, observing a turtle making its way across the grass, watching the hummingbirds, admiring the many different butterflies and moths, was so relaxing. The night sky was amazing with thousands of stars. There is no wifi, no cell phone reception and we also could not find the TV remote, so it was truly back to nature. We swam in the river, used the canoe, and hiked on the property and in Sam A Baker State Park.
