After taking a few years away from the rental market this lovely, tranquil home in south west Spain is back for rent from September 2018. You will notice some of the reviews provided are taken from the house's old guest book, although 2019 guests have now provided some lovely positive reviews too.
Set on 1.5 acres of secluded mature gardens, this rural rustic family house is ideal for families or couples wanting to escape and enjoy a fantastic part of Andalusia. Placed in the small hamlet of Najara, Casa Sylvia is an attractive rustic house with bags of charm.
This part of Spain is very unspoilt, with rich history and tradition, and due to the amazing Atlantic climate and stunning beaches, it is where many Spanish people come for their own summer holidays.
The owners have furnished the house well for comfortable family living and is very well equipped. It is well provided for guests with children - a cot and a high chair are available. The newly refurbished pool is set within a large patio near to the house; there are ample loungers, tables and chairs as well as a BBQ for outdoor living. Outside the mature gardens are well tended by local couple Diego and Milagros, who can provide you with seasonal produce from the grounds.
The house is situated 10 mins from the stunning hilltop fortress town, Vejer de la Frontera with restaurants, bars, shops and other amenities. Many beaches are easily accessible, including 20 mins to El Palmar beach. Other beautiful beaches nearby include Caños, Conil de la,Frontera, La Barrosa, Cape Trafalgar, Zahora.
The house has a guest information book, including a wealth of knowledge about the local area, supermarkets, restaurants, beaches, amenities, emergency contacts, etc.

Summary: Casa. Sylvia was exactly as the photos and was lovely and secluded, it has a huge secure garden and we could help ourselves to the fruit on the trees, which we all enjoyed. the house is very well equipped and has retained a lovely comfortable rustic feel. It was a bit unfortunate for us that this winter has been the wettest for a long time but we still managed to have days out and sit out on the terrace, all in all a very relaxing stay

Summary: We had the most amazing stay in this beautiful villa. Jane was a great host and Diego the gardener was so friendly and welcoming, showing us the garden and giving us freshly picked fruit and veg. We hardly saw him but it was lovely when we did. The villa is beautiful with everything you need, the gardens are so peaceful to relax in with just the sounds of the countryside and the pool is a great size and although it was only April we were in it lots everyday. Although remote it is only 20min to the wonderful old town of Vejer with lots of restaurants, shops ans supermarkets and stunning beaches with restaurants just a bit further. There is a tiny shop 5min drive away in Cantarranas which sells most things and further supermarkets in Benalup. A great base to explore the area - we only wish we had been able to stay longer to explore more as well as have lazy days enjoying the villa. We’ve already recommended it to loads of friends and hope to stay again.

Summary: We really enjoyed casa Sylvia. The layout of the house, the gardens, the location ... everything in one word "great". Diego as caretaker of the house and gardens was a great support. He continued to make sure that everything was to our liking. Oranges, mandarins, grapefruit .... the trees were full and we were allowed to pick what we wanted. We will definitely come back here in warmer periods.

Summary: Casa Sylvia is the most perfect holiday home for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. Beautiful gardens, a perfect pool and a really homey feel to the whole place. Super close to Vejer and really easy to get to other places such as Cadiz and Seville. Brilliant communication from start to finish and such an amazing helpful house and area guide in the house, we read it everyday and it helped us plan our weeks out. Everything was perfect!

Summary: Everything was really perfect for us and we enjoyed the time that we spent at this lovely place. The garden is amazing and really lovely behaved from Diego and Milagros. He came every early morning to clean the pool and look after the garden areas. Many thanks to them for looking after us and the lots of fresh vegetables that we received from him out of the garden. Two very nice persons. The kitchen is very well equipped. The rooms and beds are in a good condition. A car is necessary. Peaceful place to relax and leave the trouble of the city behind you. We really didn't want to leave... Many thanks to Diego. Muchas gracias y queremos volver si podemos.

Summary: The house is set in a very quiet area but yet within a short distance from Vejer. It has a lot of personality and a nice "lived in" feeling but more than anything, we were impressed by the large outdoor area, a beautiful pool and not to forget, the most amazing caretakers. We strongly recommend this destination for anyone looking to explore the sensational Cadiz region but preferring to stay a little off the beaten track.

Summary: Casa Sylvia is a great place to relax. The house is equipped with everything you need. With a large garden and swimming pool, located in a quiet area. Just 15 minutes by car to Vejer where you will find all the shops, restaurants and bars you need. To the wide sandy beach 25 minutes by car. We will certainly return to Casa Sylvia.
