Summary: So much to do, so much to see! We never wanted to leave the property. Fishing, pickle-ball, animal watching not to mention the beautiful pool and views. Property needs some updating but we still love it there.

Summary: This was the 6th annual golf trip that I put on for 12-16 of my buddies each spring. The prevailing opinion from the group was this should rent this place every year. I completely agree. The property is beautiful, spacious, easy to to get to, and perfectly equipped to accommodate large groups. Bubba (ranch manager) and Marisol (owner) were super friendly and helpful. 5 star for sure.

Summary: Our large family of 22 rented the house for our twins “40”th birthdays. The tour around the ranch was spectacular with the exotic game. David was so helpful but we didn’t have water on Sunday morning and had some unwanted stinging critters..

Summary: The Hudson Homestead/Longhorn River Ranch is a gorgeous property! Marisol, who handles all the reservations and online correspondence, is a "gem." The main house is old, eclectic, cool, ranch style. We didn't find the winding stairs difficult at all. We had a 19 month old and put up a baby gate to keep her from going on the stairs but it was more of a nuisance than a help so we took it down. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The only upstairs bathroom is in the master bedroom. The other bedroom uses the bathroom with a tub/shower at the bottom of the stairs. It did not present a problem at all. The winding stairs are wood, and there are places to hold on to the wall as you ascend and descend. The small bedroom with twin beds to the right of the front door have double doors between the room and small adjacent living room with a wood burning fireplace. Two children slept in that bedroom. They shared the bathroom at the foot of the stairs with their parents who were in the second bedroom upstairs. The kitchen and family room worked well for us. The outside guest rooms are across with entry to the family room, forming a "U" shaped courtyard. Beautiful deck and pool with covered fireplace. The property is amazing! We brought a Polarias and rode up into the rock hills when Bubba gave us the "all clear." The views!!! Exotic wildlife! My husband and I hiked up the hills as well. We took our own thrower and clays, and rifles for target shooting. There was so much to do, but too little time! We grilled chicken and tenderloin outside. The two refrigerators in the kitchen were great! The weather was cloudy, foggy, and rainy but we went outside every chance we got! One night we went out front with glow necklaces and had a blast dancing with the children. We had races in the front yard in the afternoon. We had a couple of issues on arrival, and James, the owner's son came right over to help. James was kind and very personable as he walked us through the issues. Bubba, the ranch manager, was on a hunt with other guests. The weather was wet and cold and two of the outside guest rooms did not have heat. One of the bathrooms did not have hot water. There were plenty of blankets to keep warm that night . James and Bubba came the following morning with workmen and both issues were resolved. They also brought space heaters in case they were needed. Great Thanksgiving and hope to come back! Thanks for sharing this beautiful place

Summary: The house is perfect for large groups. While it has low ceilings it’s country rustic. The grounds are beautiful the pool is fantastic and almost every room has its own bathroom so large groups getting ready at the same time is doable. Our only negative was the hot tub wasn’t working and we really wish it had been. But we utilized the shooting range, drove the property. It was the perfect venue to host our international guests for a wedding held at a nearby separate venue

Summary: We were looking for a place to host a small reunion of Marines. Many of us had not seen each other in 15 years, and were looking for a spot that would house us all comfortably, but also provide some seclusion away from the city that would allow us to catch up with one another. This place fit the bill perfectly and we had a great time. Absolutely beautiful property, and plenty to do. This would make a great family reunion spot as well.

Summary: Members of my extended family had an informal reunion at the LRR over Labor Day weekend and everyone was thrilled with the place. We had five people 60+, 7 of us in our 30s and 40s, 5 teens and 2 six year olds, and every one of us enjoyed our weekend. This is a great place for any sort of extended family or friend vacation! The bunk room served its purpose at the hangout for the kids, while the adults got to spread out in the other bedrooms. Every day was centered around the pool - the pool and deck are great spots for being able to hang out with the group or sit in a quieter area to read. We all felt connected without feeling like we were on top of each other (as an introvert, I really appreciated that!). We grilled steaks outside on the grill (and we all agreed next time we’ll bring a brisket for the smoker!), took walks and drives around the giant property to spot all sorts of deer and zebra, did a little fishing in the creek and played cards in the living room and dining room after nightfall. It was the perfect place to unwind, have fun and bond. Everyone raved about the place all weekend, I felt like a hero for finding it, and we’ve all decided we’ll be back again next year! We only had two minor complaints: 1) the hot tub didn’t work; Bubba (the very friendly and helpful ranch manager!) explained that the pump had been acting up, so we understood and 2) the tv in the bunk room was missing. That was fine by me though as it meant the kids spent more time hanging out with their parents and grandparents (when they weren’t making tik tok videos, that is!). I will caution that the stairs to the second floor bedrooms are curved and a little treacherous for clumsy people (me) or those with some minor mobility issues, so when booking, plan for older guests or klutzes to stay in one of the guest rooms attached to the house.
