Hikers and hunters will love the easy access to the Monongahela National Forest. Mountain bikers will delight in the super easy access to world-class trails. Gravel grinding roads abound for long rides through the pines. Bike wash station available except in winter. Winter visitors will love the cozy fireplace and the short drive to the slopes at Canaan Resort and the trails at White Grass. Family meals will be easy and fun with the well-equipped kitchen and open floor plan. Summary: We stayed at this property for a family vacation. The property was nice. It has a private feeling, even though other cabins are fairly close. I would recommend this property for a vacation.

This was our first time staying at this location and we loved it so much we have already booked for next year!! It is very cozy and had everything we needed, even a crockpot! :)

Reviewer Comments: We chose the area to visit at a friend's recommendation for a relaxing getaway for my husband and me. Canaan Valley is a quiet area with hiking, beautiful scenery and other seasonal activities. The house was nice and clean, and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The cabin had plenty of sleeping arrangements though we did not use them as it was just the two of us, but the main bed was big and comfortable. The house was a little close to the highway for my personal taste and the living area could have used more seating and a more comfortable couch. It was difficult to both sit and watch TV at night and if you had a family with you there was not additional seating.

Summary: We stayed at Red Squirrel Pines for a week in early August to celebrate our anniversary. The cabin was very nice and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you need for cooking or grilling, which we took advantage of most nights. The only small drawback was that the cabin is in a "subdivision" of other cabins located right off of a busy highway and traffic was audible/visible. But the proximity to Davis and Thomas was really convenient. Hot tub was very nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.

Summary: Fantastic place to get away from TX heat. Great cabin for grandparents and 8-yr old to hang; outstanding location close to multiple sites and parks. We even found a forest trail easy to walk to from cabin.

Summary: My dad and I stayed for vacation. The property was clean and had everything we needed. It's not quite as secluded as I thought, but it was still quiet and peaceful with just a little road noise. I would love to come back in the future!
