Chaffee Cottage, circa 2006, was designed from an 18th-century cape and has all the modern-day amenities, such as central air, washer/dryer, dishwasher, outdoor shower, high-speed wireless internet and cable HDTV.
Located in the historic hamlet of Little Compton, the cottage is less than a mile from the Atlantic ocean as the bird flies, and just a two-mile drive along winding country roads and beautiful pastoral settings to the nearest beach. There are several more beaches within a fifteen-minute driving distance of the cottage, including (but not limited to) Horseneck, Goosewing, South Shore and Elephant Rock beaches. You'll find beautiful country roads, pristine beaches, rolling pastures, antique shops, wineries and nature preserves - all within biking or driving distance.
We are pet friendly at Chaffee Cottage. We do, however, reserve the right to consider each pet request on an individual basis. We ask our guests bringing pets to please be aware that there is a $125.00 fee per pet/week applied.

Summary: We loved staying in this cottage and hope to return again. The cottage is so well built and has all the amenities (and so much sunlight ! ) And this part of Rhode Island is also a treasure - quaint and quiet, so we could either walk our dog in the large yard or down the street since little traffic (although note that we stayed off season, so we were also able to walk our dog on the several beaches nearby in both RI and MA . Just a lovely vacation for all of us !)

Summary: Lovely place in lovely setting. Well equipped and with a multitude of comfortable seating inside and out.Perfect for a quiet break from busy city life with the ocean not far by car and lovely walking opportunities on the beach and in the dunes. The owners were easily accessible although they live far away and very helpful .

Summary: We had a wonderful week at Chaffee Cottage. The house has everything you need, including comfortable bed, lots of towels, a cute kitchen and nice bathrooms with a washer dryer. The outdoor space is pretty and the there are lots of windows with good light. We enjoyed dinners of fresh seafood from Westport Lobster and used the grill too. The cottage was very clean and Steve was very welcoming, there were even flowers waiting for us. We had a great time and so did our dog Rocket. It is a terrific place from which to explore lovey Little Compton.

Summary: We just returned from a lovely vacation at this adorable home. Our family of 4 and our small dog loved the charm of Chaffee Cottage with its European homey touches and simplicity. My husband greatly appreciated the dedicated office space for work and we loved the peace and quiet of the area. The cottage is perfect for 4 people and everyone had enough space for their belongings. Little Compton is a gem - very low key - it’s the perfect escape.

Summary: My husband and I and our Aussie, Merlin thoroughly enjoyed our week at Chaffee's Cottage in Little Compton. The cottage is spotless and offers modern comfort in an idyllic setting. The rooms are bright and airy and the home is situated on a beautiful property centrally located to several beaches, shops and restaurants. The hosts, Steve and Josje are warm, welcoming and extremely responsive. Their home offered a peaceful respite and a chance to relax and unwind. Just what we needed at this particular time. While we found it hard to leave, we look forward to returning- hopefully same time next year. Thank you Steve and Josje for sharing your beautiful home with us. We left with many happy memories.
