Relax in this charming, picturesque log cabin located on the edge of a 3/4 acre spring-fed pond, situated on a 100 acre lot, bordering miles of state forest. This solidly built cabin evokes the romance of timelessness, yet contains the conveniences of the 21st century. Begin your day with a cup of coffee in hand, floating in the rowboat in the center of the pond, contemplating the dragonflies lazily swooping over the water while listening to the sweet calls of the song birds in the trees.Tie on your hiking boots to access miles of trails from the front door. Enjoy an afternoon swim in the pond and watch the stars in the evening from around the campfire. We will set up the wood-fired sauna for your use during your stay.
This house contains all the amenities of home- and then some. The private, intimate loft contains a queen-sized bed. Downstairs you will find a bathroom with tub, an enormous stone fireplace for late fall fires, a living room containing comfortable seating as well as a futon. There is a full-service kitchen at your ready to prepare foods gathered from the many farmers markets, farms and specialty stores in the Ithaca area. Step outside onto and find an outdoor charcoal grill. If you prefer to eat out or explore the beautiful Finger Lakes region by car, the cozy cabin is twelve miles from downtown Ithaca, at the end of a quiet road, yet easy access from the highway.
We provide a comfortable queen-sized bed in the loft, a 8 inch thick foam-wrapped futon in the living room for additional sleeping space, fresh sheets and towels, basic toiletries, and a kitchen equipped for the casual cook or more serious chef. Our cupboard stocked with herbs and spices are ready to garnish your forays to one of the many local farms, farmers' markets or a wild edibles foraging expedition. There are extras such as lanterns to guide you to your campfire, a small cooler, picnic ware for your day trip, hammocks, and basic first aid supplies. We want to be sure you are able to relax in comfort, not needing to run to the store for the "small stuff."
The log cabin is perfect for romantic getaways; you may stay a week and feel little desire to get into a car or conversely, it may be the private retreat you return to after a day of exploring the area by foot, bicycle or car. As a getaway, cards and classic board games are provided. Please note, there is no internet or television. Most phones do have 4 or 5 g service if you prefer to stream your own video.
There are miles of trails on our own property right outside the door. The Finger Lakes Trail runs through the property.

Summary: Great property and host. Cozy cabin. Missed having TV and internet but we knew that going in. It rained most of our stay which was unfortunate but we made the most of it. Our Shepherd, Prince, enjoyed hiking and hanging with us. We appreciated being able to bring him along.

Summary: The property, the cabin, and the pond were like heaven. I was able to forget and unwind. Most of all it's a total stress free environment. Pond has tons of fish. My dog loves the water and enjoys swimming around my lure. He couldn't figure out where the fish went after I placed them back into the water. I thought that was funny. The cabin was spotless, the bed and futon were very comfortable. This will be my go to place for now on. If this property ever goes up for sale, I might just have to buy it. It's a gem! I totally loved it. It was picture perfect. The hostess's were on point with communication and updates along the way. Absolutely amazing!

Summary: We had a wonderful time staying in this log cabin in the hills near Ithaca, NY. Great accommodations with everything we needed for our five day stay. We enjoyed the setting, the access to some fantastic hikes and waterfalls, the proximity to Ithaca and wineries and breweries, and loved the sauna. We highly recommend!

Summary: This is a really cute cabin in a great location -- out of the way quiet but within close proximity to many destinations. There are many amenities provided for your comfort that you wouldn't think of until you needed it -- zip lock bags, plastic wrap, basic seasonings for cooking, etc. The pond draws a lot of interesting birds and wildlife to look at when hanging out at the cabin. The sauna was wonderful, even in the summer (I found out that it takes more wood than I thought it would need to get the heat up but now I feel like a pro). Our daughter made a nest behind the bed in the loft to hang out in but had a good rest in the futon at night. Overall, a really nice and relaxing stay. One note is that there are deer antlers and taxidermy hanging on the walls (which my suburban NJ kid had not seen before) which might be an issue for some folks but we would definitely stay again!

Summary: Well-appointed, cozy Cabin with everything one could need and then some! Towels, linens, pantry basics, cooking utensils, wood, etc... were easy to find, use, and much appreciated. The Sauna is a must in any season -so relaxing. The pond makes for a delightful backdrop, especially in the rain. Easy drive to Ithaca and the multitude of parks, hiking, and waterfalls in the region. Had an amazing 3 nights stay that provided some much needed time away from life's many distractions and a greater closeness to nature. Many thanks again to our hosts for a fabulous time!
