Summary: This place is as much if not more than you need in Picton before or after a ferry. Short walk to shops, fish and chips, supermarkets, cafes and waterfront, under 10min walk to ferry terminal. Lots of space in the rooms for luggage, a mini bar and basic amenities. Surprisingly good for a Surprisingly low price and would definitely stay again.

Summary: There were 4 of us traveling together and when I booked online it seemed that the only option was a four bed "family room." That would have been small and the lovely person at the desk said that there was a two bedroom apartment available for slightly more money. It was a great idea, as we had two bedrooms, a large lounge room, and full (well stocked) kitchen. The location is convenient to everything in town and has a lovely waterfront view.

Summary: Nice hotel very handy for ferry. Our ferry arrived late so key was left for us. Had no interaction with staff as didn’t need to. Was in good spot for restaurants shops etc Very brief overnight stop but very nice and comfortable.

Summary: We chose to stay here as we’re arriving late and wanted just to dine in at their advertised restaurant and not have to go out. At checkin we were told that the restaurant wasn’t open as the chef wasn’t working. They still had a board sign on the driveway advertising their restraunt which I felt was misleading.

Summary: Nice clean hotel with great views and friendly staff. We had dinner at the restaurant but unfortunately it was not for us - everything was sickeningly sweet and completely unsalted. I’ve come to realize that salt is not much used in new zealand but this was the worst so far, unsalted fish drenched in sweet chili sauce. Unless you are a kiwi used to this kind of seasoning I recommend you dine elsewhere.

Summary: Staff were great and went out of there way to be hospitable for our 2 room stay 11/10 Beachcomber as a brand is starting to show its age, facilities are nice, aroma of wet carpet in the lifts was the same as the beachcomber in the bay of islands, brought back fond childhood memories
