Positive: Beautiful lodge, beautiful designed. Very nice people working here. Silence . Michael organized all the hikes . Including driver and guid to Mt Kenya I want to come back here. The nature and climate is wonderful. I loved this place Thank You for fantastic days with you all. I want to come back Doc

Positive: The location was very calm and nice!The owner was very helpful and he also brought us to have a walk in the park, explaining tous the surroundings and taking pictures of us :) This made the difference!
Negative: i find the price very high, but everything in the zone is very expensive, so it is adapted to the market.

Positive: If you are looking for rustic, off the beaten track, accomodation, Podocarpus cottages is an excellent choice! A bit of a drive off the highway on a dirtroad (4x4 when it rains) and you are in a haven, a pleasant cottage, nice garden, stroll to a good view of Mt Kenya, and the host, Michael, is just outstanding. Will do all he can to make your stay great, and connect you with people for anything, order breakfast delivery (!), arrange a pick up of goods from a store, hook you up with a driver, safari organizer and you name it. Super pleasant stay and Michael and his crew are excellent.
Negative: The road is barely drivable in a standard sedan car, and will require a 4x4 when it rains. There were no mosquito nets so if you want to keep the very few that are there out, bring your own. Only one restaurant close, but then again you can have food delivered from it, and Michael does a mean BBQ upon request!
Summary: Outstanding off the beaten path experience, rustic, clean, and perfect alternative to wayside hotels
