Positive: The hotel is beautiful. The staff we encountered were absolutely lovely and friendly. The food was amazing too. We will come back.

Negative: We didn't quite understand why we couldn't order a cocktail when we arrived and were told that no cocktails are made for weddings. It was even more surprising when our friends turned up with cocktails after the ceremony. We were puzzled by the reason why the response varied and mainly why no cocktails, especially when there is such a great bar full of amazing choices.

Positive: We had a superb stay at Poets House. I genuinely can't find a single negative thing to say about the place. We had a beautiful large room, quiet, comfortable and with an amazing view on Ely Cathedral. Everything we needed was present in the room: slippers, towels, toiletteries, tea and coffee, biscuits... The hotel is at a few minutes walk from the railway station, the Cathedral and the High Street with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We enjoyed the breakfast in the room, and it was amazing! Dinner was excellent as well. Staff were friendly and helpful.
