Positive: The house is stunning and with very interesting history and character. The gardens are lovely to spend time in. We enjoyed hearing the church bells and the kids loved plane spotting. Everything was clean and comfortable and the host left us milk, OJ, bread and biscuits which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated after a long drive. We didn't feel like we needed for anything, kitchen well stocked with everything you need to cook and even night light torches in the bedroom which was brilliant for the kids. Had tea at the Star pub across the road and the food was very good. Huge play area for the kids too and staff were very attentive.

Negative: The check in and out times are the latest/earliest we have ever experienced at 5pm check in and 9am check out. Although the host did manage to get the house ready for us for 3pm, we didn't know that until 1 hour before when we were battling with traffic and had already made alternative plans for tea so we couldn't make use of it in the end. We appreciate the flexibility as we had two young children and had travelled a long way. Everything else was brilliant though and we could not fault the house. We would love to stay again.

Positive: Pollard cottage is a paradise. Historically interesting and very comfortable. Beautiful cottage garden. The photos do not show the wonderful nature of the cottage and garden. Sitting in the garden during the day and sitting next to the logburner at night was lovely. Bett, the property manager, is so lovely. Bett ensured we were very happy and had everything we could possibly need. There were planes going over the cottage to land at Gatwick but these were not a problem to us. Overall, it was a wonderful, magical stay - we found peace at Pollard Cottage.

Negative: There were no significant problems. The bathroom being downstairs gave us exercise and is a very small price to pay to stay in a half timbered cottage dating from before Henry 8th! Would have liked a 10am checkout instead of 9am but it was not a big deal.

Negative: Check out is an hour earlier than you are told on booking.com (9am). Very stressful final hour with housekeeping at the door!

Positive: The cottage was larger than expected. The kitchen was very spacious with great facilities. Very large garden for the dog. Easy access to everywhere for good dog walks both local and within 10 to 15 miles.

Negative: No full length mirror for my girlfriend to assess outfits to wear. Only room for 1 car parking outside but pub over road don't mind you using theirs.
