North Captiva Island is a truly wonderful and pristine location. And we CALL it the perfect place as our second home and we hope you will CALL it that too! And we list in multiple locations for Florida at less expensive rates for HavanaBreezeNCap.
Havana Breeze is a charming Florida style home just 150 feet from the beach with spectacular Gulf of Mexico views. Experience sunset views from both the upper porch and balcony in comfortable rocking chairs and the outdoor dining table. Our fully air conditioned home offers three bedrooms and two and a half baths. Recently painted throughout, everything feels 'fresh' and very comfortable!
And our own 15'x34' private heated in-ground pool with a huge deck for sunbathing and just lounging! We have completely renovated the exterior with new Hardieboard siding, hurricane/impact windows & doors, new balcony off the kitchen suitable for private sunbathing, new exterior stairs, a new 3-season unfinished sun porch on the bedroom level (partially complete, that includes new windows and screens and with two seating areas).
You will enjoy all that we have to offer including watching dolphins at play, views of pelicans and ospreys flitting around, or simply shelling on the beach that the Kalusa indians shelled. The Island is approximately four miles long and half a mile at its width.
Privacy and seclusion is the way of life. No cars are on the island and transportation is by golf cart or bicycle.
"Havana Breeze" is fully equipped with flat screen TV's with satellite DishTV and DVD players. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and a large selection of dishware, flatware, and cooking utensils.
Dock space, boats, bikes and kayas are also available for rental.

Summary: Enjoyed the house, pool and how close it was to the beach. The kids almost lived in the pool the entire week and didn't want to leave. Duncan with Tortuga was very helpful and responsive to our requests for grocery and 2d golf cart rental.

Summary: What an amazing two weeks!! Bill and Tanya who own the property and Duncan from the property management company were all fantastic!! The check in and out process from arrival from ferry was seamless and our groceries were in the house upon arrival. The view from house is amazing as you are right at the beach. The kids loved the pool and we all appreciated the cleanliness of the home throughout. All the extras we needed were provided for. None of us wanted to leave and the kids did not say they were bored once in 2 weeks!! We can’t wait to get back soon! Thanks!

Summary: Loved the house AND the location. Almost on the beach and could see the beach and water from the sofa. Heated swimming pool was perfect. House also had NCIC access and the kayaks were lots of fun almost every morning. Laurie met our boat, helped us get all of our stuff to the house, and checked on us until we left. Our holiday was just perferct.

Summary: Best time to visit the island is in January; almost no other tourists and low prices for the house. Laurie and Duncan met our boat at the dock, took care of all of our groceries and suitcases, and got them to the house. Super quick answers to all of our questions from Bill & Tanya after we paid. Super nice views of the water and beach from the two upstairs porches with all of the trees trimmed in the lot in front of the house. Perfect sunset views, especially with our evening cocktails! Hope to come back again for a truly magical visit.

Summary: Super quiet and inexpensive time to visit the island. Almost no people around and we had the beach to OURSELVES the whole week. And the kiddos could run back to the house for snacks and bathroom; really convenient! Can't wait to return next January.

Summary: Tanya and Bill were extremely quick about answering questions about their house and the island, especially in how to order groceries directly to the house before we arrived and the different ferry boat options available and the costs. The HUGE pool is where we and the kids hung out between the quick strolls down to the beach .. so close to the house that trips back for snacks, meals, and bathroom breaks for our 3 small ones was a lifesaver! The pool is one of the memories the kids keep talking about with its shallow section for the very little ones that was only 3' deep, the ledges to sit and hangout on around the edge fo the pool and the really deep end for us adults. Even during the summer, we really did have the beach almost all to ourselves since there are only 10 houses or so on the lane that leads down to the beach just a few steps from the house. And lastly, Duncan and Laurie seemed like they were at our beck and call .. they met us at the boat with our golf cart and they moved our luggage straight to the house. They had already put all of our groceries away before we arrived. And they helped us get everything back to the boat for our departure when our magic holiday was over. We definitely want to come back .. the price was just right, compared to other, pricier houses that we looked at before booking. It is casual and comfortable without being so nice we would be afraid the kids would cause damage.

Summary: Quite honestly, we were a little worried from one of the previous reviews about hurricane damage and old photos. But, other than the beach views from the living room, we thought the pictures were really good .. in fact, the house and pool looked even better than the pictures. The house isn't right on the beach but there is a lot without a home that has grown over a great deal since the beach pictures were taken but we still had views of the water and sand from the outside porches, especially from our favorite rocking chair seats for the late afternoons when the sun was so bright and hot. The breezes on the porch were amazing, even during late August. The house is clean and well organized, most everything that anyone would ever need for a 1 week stay. It looks like the owners had just replaced the washer .. at least it looked very new but was huge for washing our pool and beach towels. Bill answered all of the questions that we had quickly, usually within an hour or two and he was pleasant to deal with the two times that we spoke with him on the phone, making us comfortable about And the people that met us at the dock were just WONDERFUL. They took care of all of our luggage and led us right to the house. Loved our stay!

Summary: This rental needs alot of TLC inside and outside. The beddIng and bath are in rough shape,the kitchen window is boarded up,no screens in patio as in pictures etc. Check out current pictures on trip advisor before you book this vacation rental. Location and pool are nice. Island is beautiful.

Summary: Even in the middle of a big move, this terrific home helped us relax with our crew of 6 kids! We can't say enough good things about the spacious screened-in porches and the HUGE pool! The porches beckoned us morning, noon and night to eat in the breezy morning air, enjoy the sparkling waters at lunchtime while we escaped the bright sun, and view the sunsets! Perfect for enjoying with kids with no worries about their safety! The grand pool too is a frequent topic of conversation in our house because it appealed to all w/its shallow section, ledges and "deep end." The proximity to the beach was perfect too for little feet, quick trips back to the bathroom and beach jaunts that could be fit in anytime... Yet it was just far enough away we felt like we returned to our own private retreat. As we read, we really did have the beach almost all to ourselves. House notes: Bright art and wall colors made the house feel cheerful, but not fussy. Casual and comfortable enough to enjoy, but clean. The great room had plenty of room to read and play games on our one rainy afternoon. Another pro: the owners Bill and Tanya were wonderfully prompt in answering emails with questions and were accomodating with plans as a repair was being done just before our arrival. Our only disappointment was the hammock had become unoperational before our arrival - but we found plenty of places to relax! And we loved the freedom of using the golf carts to roam the island. Our kids say they'd like to take their kids here someday - that to me says they made special memories here! 'Loved the Havana Breeze!
