Summary: Beautiful setting, clean room - perfect for what we needed. We were able to travel up and down the North Shore with no issues. Great place to have as home base. Definitely would stay here again

Summary: The “lake view” ended up being a sliver of water seen between trees. The jets on the tub have not been cleaned properly and had visible dirt around them. Also the grout on the tiles surrounding the tub could use a better cleaning. The rest of the room was clean and comfortable. The setting, aside from not having the lake view we expected, was pretty and peaceful. Bonus, Sitka coffee is only a 5 minute drive.

Summary: Very nice setting, convenient location for hiking,Lutsen gondola ride, agate hunting,etc. HOWEVER, unfortunately the hot water setting was set too high and the handle was broken such that the scalding hot water continued to pour from the faucet no matter what we did with the handle. Finally, my husband lifted the hand covering (obviously broken) and turned it off by hand

Summary: The room was very clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful! The access to the trail was great and well designed! We would definitely return to this location.

Summary: Unbeatable home base if you plan to hike trails, drive further north to walk around Grand Marais, and if Lutsen Mountain is on your list for fall leaf viewing or skiing, this place is just across HWY 61 from it! Kitchen had bare essentials for cookware so if you bring food to cook, be sure to bring everything you might need. The view off the lake and surrounding grounds were pristine and serene-perfect respite retreat! I’ll be back!!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at Poplar River Condos. The location was excellent with restaurants and hiking trails nearby. The premises are well maintained. The Guest Suite condo we rented faced Lake Superior with great views and trails down to the lake. The suite was smaller but featured a comfy king size bed, a gas fireplace, 2 chairs and a tiny kitchenette with a mini fridge and microwave, a sink and a 2 foot countertop with a coffee maker. There wasn’t room for the few snacks we brought so we had to leave them in grocery bags. I’m talking a box of crackers, a bag of chips, beef jerky, granola bars, bananas. There was a nice balcony with 2 chairs and a table. The bathroom included a jetted tub that needed attention paid to the grout. It was clean, but not so appealing.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay. Good location, absolutely stunning views, and well cared for accommodation. The only issue was that we were on a floor with another condo above us. We could hear all of the guests steps. Some were louder than others. Otherwise, we’ll stay again but will request a condo without a floor above us.
