Positive: We really felt part of the history. I was expecting it to be very basic because it was so old but it wasn't. It felt luxurious.
Negative: It was a bit noisy as the windows aren't double glazed but it was ok.
Summary: Fab place

Positive: An amazing place built 1340, so it felt a privilege to stay in this wonderful lodge with all the history, and amazing facilities. The best well equipped kitchen I’ve ever stayed in. We loved our stay so much and it felt like we were stepping back in time, but with modern features that were beautifully hidden. Beautiful position by the gorgeous Abby and Father Phil is so lovely and funny. We definitely will book again.
Negative: The stairs can be a bit of an issue for some people. We were ok but can see it as an issue for some with mobility issues. The Pub over the Rd is convenient but can be noisy a bit on Fri/Sat night. They are respectful and it only is to 11.30 we were fine with it.
Summary: Chance of a lifetime to stay in this beautiful historical place.

Positive: Everything
Negative: I only have one thing that would have been an issue if my wife had come with me a she was supposed to, and that was the stairs, they were quite steep and my wife has bad hips and she would not have been able to climb them,, they are necessary to gain entrance to the apartment and there was no mention of stair in the description as far as I recall, Other than that, absolutely tip top, father Phil was great , nothing to much trouble PS I read a comment in the visitors book, it said , I’m very surprised at the level of noise from the pub opposite , ( one of the reasons it was a good location for me ) and yes it was a little noisy on a Saturday nite , “ rod steward tribute guy “ so I went with the “ if you can’t beat them, join them “ approach, it turned out that the more I drank the better he got,
Summary: For me, absolutely tip top, warm, comfortable, lovely setting, will definitely return ,

Positive: The lodge was an excellent place to stay. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do in the area. It is a 14th century building which oozed history. That being said the facilities were modern and the decor was really good quality. Would fully reccommend staying here.
Negative: Nothing comes to mind.....
Summary: Cosy and peaceful.
