Positive: Basically an acceptable apartment but with many faults that made the stay unsatisfactory. The criticisms below are hopefully constructive for the host, and suggested improvements would help to offset complaints from future guests. Many previous reviews show that some of the faults below have been noted before but not been corrected. On the plus side, the owner was helpful in providing safe storage of our bikes. There is a good oven and microwave in the kitchen, with more than enough cutlery.

Negative: The approach to the ground floor apartment is very offputting, with a chipped set of concrete steps, the ground immediately outside the apartment door being a weed-strewn mass of rubble, with overloaded waste bins and bags of rubbish (see photos). In the bedroom the wardrobe doors did not work (hard to move - off the tracks) restricting the useable space. Two TVs and two clocks, none working. Kitchen needs more plates and cups/mugs. There was no kettle. The table provided was very small, with two bar stools instead of proper chairs. The side of the sofa was broken and collapsed. In the bathroom the showerhead fixing on the rail was broken and thus it was only useable as a hand shower. I fixed it to the shower rail with tape to make it useable, but this should have been repaired properly beforehand. The plunge plug in the sink did not close properly so it was not possible to have a bowl full of water to wash in. The picture of the roof terrace on the property webpage is misleading, as it is in fact at the Best Western Plus hotel in Soissons! There is no such roof terrace at Potal.

Summary: A potentially good apartment but unless many faults are corrected, not acceptable.
